Abstract: A sports glove includes a wrist portion defining an opening, a palm portion having a palm side and a backside, a thumb stall and a plurality of finger stalls extending from the palm portion. The palm side comprises a fabric layer bordering an interior of the glove, and a resilient polymer layer on an outer surface of the fabric layer. At least first and second grooves are formed into the polymer layer. The finger stalls include an index finger stall, a middle stall, a ring finger stall and a pinky stall. The first groove forms a thumb base bending line extending from at or adjacent to the opening along the palm portion to a juncture of the thumb stall and the index finger stall. The second groove forms an upper mid-palm bending line extending across the palm portion adjacent at least the pinky finger stall and the ring finger stall.

Abstract: A protective sports garment comprising including an article of clothing and at least a first pad assembly having an inner surface and an outer surface defining a pad area. The pad assembly includes a plurality of spaced apart cells coupled together by a plurality of linking members, and first and second regions. Each of the first and second regions extends over at least 25 percent of the pad area. The first region is formed of a first inner layer and a first outer layer, and the second region is formed of the first inner layer and does not include the first outer layer. The first inner and outer layers are formed of first and second materials having first and second durometer values measured on a hardness scale, respectively. The second durometer value is greater than the first durometer value. The inner surface of the pad assembly engages the article.

The plurality of different performance zones includes at least first and second performance zones. The first performance zone has a first surface characteristic continuously extending from a first set of the finger stalls across at least a portion of the palm. The second performance zone has a second surface characteristic different than the first surface characteristic and continuously extending from a second set of the finger stalls across at least a portion of the palm.

The finger stalls include an inner surface and an outer surface. A first portion of the inner surface of at least one of the finger stalls includes a finger tip gripping region. The fingertip gripping region has greater grip ability than a second portion of the inner surface of the at least one finger stall.
