By providing an LCD display assembly that includes an LED backlight illumination system, the LED driver board for a panel may be moved to the bottom side of a display assembly.

Abstract: A portable information handling system (IHS) performance increasing apparatus includes a portable slice chassis that is operable to be coupled to an IHS external to a portable IHS chassis. At least one graphics processing unit is located in the portable slice chassis. The apparatus may be coupled to a portable IHS to provide increased graphics processing power for the portable IHS.

Abstract: An information handling system lock and carrying strap provides a carrying mode to transport the portable computer and a security mode to secure the portable computer to a fixed object. A cable has attachment devices coupled to each end and operable to couple to a portable computer so that the cable acts as a carrying strap. The cable further secures the information handling system to a fixed device to prevent theft by attaching one cable end to the information handling system and the other end to a fixed object. In one embodiment, the attachment device include a secured unlocked position to allow convenient use as a carrying strap and a secured locked position to allow locking of the device with a key.

Abstract: A display screen assembly apparatus and method are disclosed including a base assembly and a rotatable coupling attached to the base assembly. The rotatable coupling preferrably includes a display screen interface and a first electrical interface conductively connected to the base assembly. A display screen assembly releasably secures to the display screen interface. The display screen assembly has a second electrical interface operable to releasably engage the first electrical interface and conduct electrical signals from the base assembly through the first electrical interface and the second electrical interface to the display screen assembly.

Abstract: A noise-attenuating shielding unit and method for a speaker according to which a shield is formed by a housing of a noise-attenuating material having a metal plate attached thereto. The housing is located over at least a portion of the speaker and relative to the speaker so that the plate is magnetically attracted to the magnet of the speaker to secure the shielding unit to the speaker.
