  • Patent number: 6897573
Abstract: A manually operated voltage generating device provides an electrical voltage for operating an electronic unit such as a remote control handheld unit. The device has a permanent magnet mounted in a horizontal manner at the underside of a mild steel plate. The magnet is normally located in a spaced manner from the central post of an E-shaped core. A winding is wound on the central post. A compression spring mounted over the core maintains the magnet normally spaced above the core. The mild steel plate is operative in an up and down manner against the spring force of the spring to move the magnet in a reciprocating movement relative to the core so as to generate a current in the winding. The current charges a capacitor, and the voltage across the capacitor provide the electrical voltage for operating the electronic unit.

  • Patent number: 6838859
Abstract: A device for increasing an extreme low voltage from a heat to electrical voltage thermopile is shown. The device has an oscillator including two MOSFET transistors coupled to a transformer having four bifilar windings wound on a core having a high permeability. The two transistors operate alternately to generate an intermediate voltage which is increased in magnitude by a voltage doubling and rectifying circuit to obtain the substantially constant operating output voltage. The output voltage is further maintain constant by a current control cirucit including an adjustable potentiometer adjustable to vary the current.

  • Publication number: 20040130234
Abstract: A manually operative power supply device for an electronic unit is shown. The device has a crystal block having a high piezoelectric characteristic having a broad top surface. A hammer weight is spring mounted and is operative to strike the top surface of the crystal block so as to produce a generated voltage between the top surface and bottom surface of the crystal block. A capacitor is charged by the generated voltage until it is fully charged. The voltage of the fully charged capacitor provides the required electrical power to operate the electronic unit.

  • Publication number: 20040124637
Abstract: An automatic power supply device for a remote control unit is shown. The device has a rotatable multi-layer disc mounted in an open top casing with a tray slidably mounted in it. The remote control unit is mounted on the tray which is movable up and down when a button of the remote control unit is pressed and released. The disc has printed wire provided in the same area of all layers. The area is located in a spaced manner between magnetic plates mounted in the inside surface of the arms of a U-shaped stator member. Current is generated in the printed wire when the disc is rotated. A capacitor is charged by the current to provide the voltage supply to operate the remote control unit.

  • Patent number: 6246033
Abstract: A method and device for controlling and limiting the cooking temperature of any selected utensil for cooking on a surface burner element of a range are shown. A temperature sensor is provided either on a heat transfer plate which is mounted to the burner element or in a remote-controlled unit mounted directly to the utensil. The actual temperature of the utensil is compared with the selected cooking temperature, and it is then adjusted to maintain the two temperatures close to each other. The device also automatically turns off the burner element in a potential runaway condition or in the absence of a utensil placed thereon.

  • Patent number: 6227325
Abstract: External inflatable safety bags are provided in this system which is adaptable for a variety of conveyances. A sensing means determines the speed and distance between the conveyance and an obstacle or another conveyance for selectively providing a warning signal to the driver to avoid a collision or to deploy the safety bags automatically when collision is imminent. The safety bags provide impact absorption as well as aerodynamic breaking of the speed of the conveyance.

  • Patent number: 5785511
Abstract: In this combustion gas control device, an electromechanical control is provided for automatically controlling the supply of the gas to the pilot burner when it is being ignited and subsequently to the main burner. The device has a main chamber, a pilot chamber and an outlet chamber. A spring-biassed valve is provided between the main chamber and the pilot chamber to close communication between the main chamber and pilot and outlet chambers. The spring-biassed valve is opened when a solenoid is actuated to allow gas from the main chamber to flow into the pilot chamber to the pilot outlet for lighting the pilot light. A diaphragm cover is provided between the pilot chamber and outlet chamber while the pilot is lighted to prevent gas from entering the outlet chamber.

  • Patent number: 5140859
Abstract: A master transceiver and a slave transceiver are employed for providing an accurate measurement of the distance between two locations in which these transceivers are situated. A pulse signal is generated by the master transceiver, which requires a time period of t1 to travel to the slave transceiver. After a time delay of t2 upon the receipt of the pulse signal by the slave transceiver it transmits a response signal back to the master transceiver. The response signal requires the same time period of t1 to be received by the master trasnceiver. The total time involved is compared with a reference time to distance circuit in the master transceiver to determine the distance between the two units and the distance is shown on a digital display.

  • Patent number: 5100101
Abstract: The bidirectional rotation device comprises a direct current motor connected in series with a capacitor and a reversible switching means. When a direct current voltage is applied to the series-connected combination of direct current motor and capacitor through the switching means in one position, the charged capacitor causes the motor to rotate in one direction for a short period of time; and when the voltage is again applied to the combination in the reversed polarities, the reversely charged capacitor will cause the motor to rotate in the reverse direction.

  • Patent number: 5018964
Abstract: A remote-controlled system for igniting a gas barbeque unit and the like is shown. The system controls the gas flow to the pilot lighter and the burner of the barbeque unit, and generates a spark to ignite the pilot lighter and in turn the burner. The system will automatically shut off when the pilot lighter is accidentally extinguished so as to prevent gas leakage to cause any explosion. The system may be operated by a low voltage 9-volt battery.

  • Patent number: 4924564
Abstract: An ultrasonic remote controlled switching device having very low power consumption is shown. The device is capable of switching high power and/or generating a power pulse for operating associated electrical control devices. The switching device responses to ultrasonic wave generated by a remote hand-held transmitter unit to change its state from ON to OFF or vice versa and simultaneously generates the desirable power pulse. The remote switching device is suitable for use in remotely controlling the operation of a natural gas fireplace.
