Patent number: 12206479Abstract: Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are described herein that may be used for transmission of one or more DCI, CSI-RS and/or CSI reports. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may receive a DCI that includes information indicating two channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) resources and four CSI reporting resources. Each CSI-RS resource may be associated with two CSI reporting resources. The WTRU may monitor a first CSI-RS resource for a CSI-RS. If the WTRU does not identify the CSI-RS in the first CSI-RS resource, the WTRU may monitor a second CSI-RS resource for the CSI-RS. The WTRU may receive the CSI-RS on the first CSI-RS resource or the second CSI-RS resource. The WTRU may determine availabilities of the first and/or the second CSI reporting resource associated with the CSI-RS resource on which the WTRU received the CSI-RS. The WTRU may transmit a CSI report on an available CSI reporting resource.Type: GrantFiled: November 6, 2023Date of Patent: January 21, 2025Assignee: InterDigital Patent Holdings, Inc.Inventors: Oghenekome Oteri, Ahmad Reza Hedayat, Shahrokh Nayeb Nazar, Rui Yang

Patent number: 12200702Abstract: Methods and/or apparatus for reducing or avoiding (IDC) in-device coexistence problems in devices which support multiple communications protocols, e.g., WiFi and LTE, are described. In various embodiments a WiFi AP can request or require devices, e.g., STAs to report IDC information pertinent to the individual device. This is done by sending one or more trigger frames, e.g., as part of a multicast or unicast operation. Alternatively, devices can voluntarily report IDC information. The AP, e.g., WiFi AP, takes the IDC information it receives, e.g., from multiple devices, e.g., STAs, into account when scheduling UL resources to be used by the wireless devices. By taking into consideration the IDC information provided by STAs, IDC conflicts can be avoid even though a WiFi AP is scheduling resources for WiFi communication in devices which are also using resources for another communications standard, e.g., LTE, over which the AP does not have control.Type: GrantFiled: October 4, 2021Date of Patent: January 14, 2025Assignee: Charter Communications Operating, LLCInventors: Ahmad Reza Hedayat, Maulik Vaidya

Patent number: 12193037Abstract: Methods and apparatus for supporting wireless medium sharing in wireless communications systems, e.g., various 802.11 wireless communications systems, are described. A novel shared transmission type of trigger frame is implemented, which allows a wireless station, acting as a host station, to make available transmission resources, which have been acquired by the wireless station, to one or more guest stations. A shared transmission type of trigger frame, generated and transmitted by the host station communicates information identifying the attributes of a corresponding trigger based (TB) frame, information identifying resources of the TB frame to be used by the host station and information identifying one or more set of shared resources which may be used by guest station(s). The trigger based (TB) frame, corresponding to the transmitted shared transmission type trigger frame, is used by the host station and one or more guest stations to transmit data to an access point.Type: GrantFiled: February 4, 2024Date of Patent: January 7, 2025Assignee: Charter Communications Operating, LLCInventors: Ahmad Reza Hedayat, Maulik Vaidya, Amitav Mukherjee

Patent number: 12192007Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices for efficient and robust handling of acknowledgements in new radio unlicensed bands (NR-U) environments. A wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU) may receive control information and a data transmission from a gNB in a first interval (i.e., transport block or channel occupancy time), wherein the control information may include an indication of uplink resources. The data transmission may require some sort of acknowledgement (i.e., HARQ feedback). The WTRU may attempt to transmit the acknowledgement in the indicated uplink resources, but the gNB may not receive the acknowledgement. The WTRU may receive control information and a data transmission from the gNB in a second interval, including an indication to aggregate any previously unsuccessful acknowledgement transmissions. The WTRU may transmit an aggregated acknowledgement including previous unsuccessful acknowledgements and any additional acknowledgements from the current interval.Type: GrantFiled: August 8, 2019Date of Patent: January 7, 2025Assignee: InterDigital Patent Holdings, Inc.Inventors: Ahmad Reza Hedayat, Shahrokh Nayeb Nazar, Oghenekome Oteri, Hanqing Lou, Rui Yang

Publication number: 20240396581Abstract: A master node (MN) communicating with a UE using resource of a first band of unlicensed spectrum sends an addition request to a selected secondary node, to request resources for supporting the UE in a second band of unlicensed spectrum. The addition request includes minimum frequency separation information and optionally a baseline reference frequency. The minimum frequency separation information communicated in the addition request, indicates a minimum amount of frequency separation to be maintained between the communication resources in the first band of unlicensed spectrum used for communications with the UE and communication resource in the second band of unlicensed spectrum to be used for communications with the UE. The secondary node selects a channel within the second band of unlicensed spectrum to use for communications with the UE, which will satisfy the minimum frequency separation requirement communicated in the addition request and avoid IDC problems for the UE.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 4, 2024Publication date: November 28, 2024Inventors: Maulik Vaidya, Ahmad Reza Hedayat, Frank Azcuy, Amitav Mukherjee, Marcus Maranhao
