  • Patent number: 11719569
Abstract: A method of identifying a fault in a synchronous reluctance electric machine, the method including carrying out a first vibration measurement on a stator in a first radial direction of the stator; carrying out a second vibration measurement on the stator in a second radial direction of the stator; determining, on the basis of at least one of the first vibration measurement and the second vibration measurement, a first vibration frequency; determining, on the basis of the first vibration measurement and the second vibration measurement, a mode shape of the vibration at the first vibration frequency; and determining, on the basis that the first vibration frequency fb and the mode shape m fulfil the following barrier fault conditions: fb=fr, and m=1 where fr is a rotation frequency of a rotor, that a flux barrier of the rotor is defect.

  • Patent number: 10992192
Abstract: A stator core or a rotor core for an electrical machine, the core including a plurality of teeth separated by slots in a circumferential direction of the core, and a plurality of lamination stacks arranged one after another in an axial direction of the core, and separated from each other in the axial direction by cooling ducts. Each lamination stack includes at its each end in the axial direction at least one slit tooth section providing a discontinuity in the electrical conductivity of the lamination material and thereby reducing eddy current losses at the respective slit tooth section, and between the slit tooth sections at least one regular tooth section.

  • Patent number: 8638012
Abstract: A rotor for a synchronous reluctance machine wherein a torque ripple behaviour of the machine is optimized by altering the geometry of insulating barriers of the rotor. A q-axis pitch angle is used as a design variable instead of setting its value equal to the rest of the rotor slot pitches or binding its value to the stator slot pitch. The resulting rotor has a non-regular slot pitch across the q-axis and substantially regular slot pitch otherwise. Synchronous reluctance machines that employ rotor discs and rotor assemblies in accordance with the present invention may exhibit low torque ripple without sacrificing high torque values.

  • Publication number: 20120146448
Abstract: A rotor for a synchronous reluctance machine includes a plurality of rotor modules disposed in an axial sequence along a common axis. Each rotor module includes a plurality of poles disposed in adjacent sectors about the common axis, each pole including a plurality of magnetic segments spaced apart from one another in radial direction, a support plate, provided on an axial side of the plurality of poles, and fastening means for fastening the plurality of poles to the support plate. The fastening means, preferably a plurality of axially arranged bolts or an adhesive, bonds the plurality of poles to the support plate.
