  • Publication number: 20230349882
Abstract: A nanopore sensing device comprises a planar structure provided with plural fluidic passages extending between the first and second chambers. The planar structure supports nanopores in membranes across respective passages and sensor electrodes are arranged to sense a fluidic electrical potential in respective passages between the nanopores and the second chamber. The passages comprise planar fluidic resistor portions between the sensor electrode and the second chamber, the planar fluidic resistor portions extending in a planar direction of the planar structure and being configured to form a fluidic resistor.

  • Patent number: 7584080
Abstract: A statistical shape model is built by automatically establishing correspondence between a set of two dimensional shapes or three dimensional shapes. A parameterization of each shape is determined and, a statistical shape model is built using the parameterization. An objective function is used to provide an output which indicates the quality of the statistical shape model. By performing these steps repeatedly for different parameterizations and comparing the quality of the resulting statistical shape models using output of the objective function to determine which parameterization provides the statistical shape model having the best quality, the output of the objective function is a measure of the quantity of information required to code the set of shapes using the statistical shape model.

  • Publication number: 20070108383
Abstract: A device for detecting infrared radiation is described that comprises a resonator element (36; 72; 96; 120) fixably attached to a supporting frame (32;130). The supporting frame (32;130) is arranged to absorb infrared radiation received by the device. The resonator element (36; 72; 96; 120) has a resonant property, such as resonant frequency, that varies with temperature. The device may comprise a plurality of detection elements (70), each detection element comprising a resonator element (72) fixably attached to a supporting frame. A thermal detector array device may also be provided.
