  • Publication number: 20180129222
Abstract: A method, system, and/or computer program product controls operations of a vehicle based on a condition of cargo being transported. One or more processors receive output from vehicle sensors on a first cargo vehicle, wherein the output from the vehicle sensors describes a movement of the first cargo vehicle. The processor(s) determine that the movement of the first cargo vehicle has caused cargo in the first cargo vehicle to shift beyond a predetermined amount, and instruct a second cargo vehicle to adjust operations of the second cargo vehicle based on determining that the movement of the first cargo vehicle has caused the cargo to shift beyond the predetermined amount in the first cargo vehicle.

  • Patent number: 9958872
Abstract: A method, system, and/or computer program product controls operations of a vehicle based on a condition of cargo being transported. One or more processors receive output from cargo sensors and cameras on a first cargo vehicle. The processor(s) determine that the cargo has shifted beyond a calculated risk amount in the first cargo vehicle based on the output from the cargo sensors and cameras based on historical trips. The processor(s) determine that the movement of the first cargo vehicle has caused the cargo to shift beyond the calculated risk amount in the first cargo vehicle, and instructs a second cargo vehicle to adjust operations of the second cargo vehicle based on determining that the movement of the first cargo vehicle has caused the cargo to shift beyond the calculated risk amount in the first cargo vehicle.

  • Patent number: 9953412
Abstract: A method and system of assessing damage to an object. A first digital image of an object is taken at a first point in time with a first camera. A second digital image of the object is taken at a second point in time with a second camera, where the second point in time is after the first point in time. The first digital image and the second digital image may are compared to determine if there is damage to the object. In response to a determination that there is damage to the object, a potential source of the damage to the object is determined by analyzing historical trends of damage to historically damaged objects.

  • Patent number: 9953291
Abstract: In an approach for suggesting an item to pack, a processor receives an indication that a user is packing a first item of luggage, wherein the indication includes information about a trip. A processor generates a packing list based on the information about the trip. A processor receives a request to link the first item of luggage and a second item of luggage for the trip. A processor links the first and second items of luggage such that contents of each item of luggage are jointly compared to the packing list. A processor receives, via a short-range point-to-point communication reader of the first item of luggage, a signal from a short-range point-to-point communication device operably affixed to a first item. A processor identifies the first item based on the signal. A processor determines that the first item is an item of the packing list.

  • Patent number: 9945679
Abstract: One or more processors identify an occupant of a passenger vehicle, and then receive biometric sensor readings from a biometric sensor that is monitoring the occupant in real time, where the biometric sensor readings indicate a real-time emotional state of the occupant. The processor(s) generate a personal profile for the occupant of the passenger vehicle based on the biometric sensor readings. The processor(s) receive a desired destination and travel schedule for the occupant of the passenger vehicle, as well as environmental sensor readings indicating a real-time environmental state of the passenger vehicle. The processor(s) then create a travel route for the passenger vehicle based on the biometric sensor readings, the personal profile of the vehicle occupant, the desired destination and travel schedule, and the real-time environmental state of the passenger vehicle. One or more processors then transmit, to the passenger vehicle, directions for the travel route.

  • Patent number: 9936041
Abstract: At an application executing in a system, a usage pattern of the system and an entry in a data use history of the system are analyzed. Responsive to the analyzing, a data item is identified for caching at the system, wherein the data item is accessible to the system from at a remote data processing system over a data network at a present time, and the data item will be requested from the system at a future time when no network connectivity will be available to the system. A determination is made whether a caching control prevents the caching of the data item at the system. Responsive to the caching control not preventing the caching of the data item, the data item is cached on the system.
