  • Patent number: 10694466
Abstract: Modern living involves using a significant amount of energy, much of which may be wasted or not used efficiently. This apparatus and methodology focuses on potentially wasted energy that is being produced by ambient vibration. Bi-modal broad band energy and/or specific frequency harvester/scavengers utilize the physics of local resonance in acousto-elastic metamaterials (AEMM structures). Frequency selectivity of a harvester depends on the mass of a core resonator, soft material that houses the central mass/resonator, and the base material which is used to manufacture the metamaterial. Piezoelectric materials are known to produce electrical current when they are deformed mechanically. Ambient energy is available in the form of vibration and noise, e.g. car vibration, acoustic noise from heavy machineries, vibration from rails, which is lost, if not otherwise harvested.

  • Patent number: 10502019
Abstract: There is disclosed a tie back float collar for use with a working string to create an extension of a well liner. The tie back float collar consists of a cylindrical housing having upper and lower cylindrical plugs threaded therein, the upper cylindrical plug having a conical left hand threaded receiver coaxially formed thereon with opposite upper and lower openings, the upper opening being larger than the lower opening. The lower cylindrical plug has a conical opening coaxially formed therein with a conical plug coaxially positioned within the conical opening. A biasing spring is coupled to the conical plug and the lower cylindrical plug for biasing the conical plug towards a closed position, the biasing spring positioned above the conical plug.

  • Patent number: 10441044
Abstract: A case for a mobile device, including first, second, third, and fourth sides, each with inside and outside surfaces opposite to each other. The inside surfaces of the first and second sides face each other. The inside surface of the third and fourth sides faces each other. The first and second sides are arranged between the third and fourth sides, and the third and fourth sides are arranged between the first and second sides, so that the four sides form at least part of a frame configured to surround a periphery of the mobile device. At least one of the inside surfaces of the first, second, third, and fourth sides includes triangular protrusions that have a triangular cross section and extend toward the inside of the case, so that an apex of each of the triangular protrusions contacts the mobile device when it is arranged inside the case.

  • Patent number: 10225708
Abstract: A hop-by-hop trust evaluation scheme (H-TEA) is disclosed that can be used to route a data packet between a set of network nodes in an identity anonymous wireless sensor network. The H-TEA scheme is a complete localized approach for each network node to determine a trustworthiness reputation of the data packet for routing without requiring a recommendation from another node or any historical information about the other node. In the H-TEA scheme, the trustworthiness reputation of the packet is evaluated based on one or more of four verification processes: a data quality verification process, a location verification process, a time verification process, and a travel direction verification process. The H-TEA scheme can be implemented to preform network data management and network data security in a wireless sensor network with a resource constraint and requires anonymity.

  • Patent number: 8904472
Abstract: Consistency and/or completeness of access control policy sets may be validated and/or verified. An access control policy set may be received. The access control policy set may include access control policies that allow or disallow access to computing resources. Individual ones of the access control policies may include one or more attributes. The one or more attributes of a given access control policy may be ordered into a predetermined order responsive to the one or more attributes of the given access control policy lacking the predetermined order. A decision tree may be generated based on the access control policies. The decision tree may be analyzed to determine one or more of (1) whether one or more of the access control policies are incomplete, or (2) whether one or more of the access control policies are inconsistent with one or more other ones of the access control policies.

  • Publication number: 20100125504
Abstract: A notification system and method for providing a notification of comparison data for products or services to users for display on a user's computer. User notification data is stored for each of a plurality of users, user notification data comprising user data related to a user, type data identifying at least one type of product or service of a interest to the user, parameter date comprising parameters required for the comparison of data products or services of a product or service type of interest to the user, and temporal data indicative of when the user requires a notification. The user notification data is read to determine when to determine product or service comparison data by sending a query based on the type data and the parameter data to at least one product or service data source. Notification data is generated for display on a user's computer. The notification data includes the comparison data and a selectable link for each product or service compared in the comparison data.

  • Publication number: 20090328148
Abstract: The present invention relates to Group-based trust management scheme (GTMS) of wireless sensor networks. GTMS evaluates the trust of a group of sensor nodes in contrast to traditional trust management schemes that always focused on trust values of individual nodes. This approach gives us the benefit of requiring less memory to store trust records at each sensor node in the network. It uses the clustering attributes of wireless sensor networks that drastically reduce the cost associated with trust evaluation of distant nodes. Uniquely it provides not only a mechanism to detect malicious or faulty nodes, but also provides some degree of a prevention mechanism.

  • Publication number: 20090253651
Abstract: New drug delivery systems (DDS) are described containing hyaluronic acid and a therapeutic agent, wherein the therapeutic agent is linked, directly or via a linker, to 6-aminohyaluronic acid and where the linkage of the drug or linker with 6-aminohyaluronic acid is realised by an amide bond. Preferred therapeutic agents for use in the present DDS are anti-inflammatory, antibiotic, antitumor drugs. Preferred linkers are: succinic acid, succinic acid linked to aminoacids, succinic acid linked to peptides. The DDS are stable and free of undesired reaction by-products and impurities, and show a high level of pharmacological efficacy.
