  • Patent number: 11984838
Abstract: An appliance, as provided herein, can include a direct current load and a current sensing circuit that can be coupled to the direct current load. The current sensing circuit can be configured to collect electrical data corresponding to the direct current load. The appliance can include one or more processors that can be coupled to the current sensing circuit. The one or more processors can be configured to identify at least one attribute of the direct current load based, at least in part, on the electrical data and activate at least one operation of the direct current load or the appliance based, at least in part, on identification of the at least one attribute of the direct current load.

  • Publication number: 20240115109
Abstract: A dishwashing appliance includes a tub defining a wash chamber therein for receipt of articles for washing. A method of operating the dishwashing appliance includes initiating a cycle of the dishwashing appliance. The method also includes, during the cycle of the dishwashing appliance, monitoring audio feedback from a component of the dishwashing appliance using a microphone mounted to the dishwashing appliance outside of the wash chamber.

  • Publication number: 20230320558
Abstract: A dishwashing appliance may include a cabinet, a door, and a sensor assembly. The cabinet may extend along a lateral direction between a first side and a second side. The cabinet may define a wash chamber for receipt of articles for washing. The door may extend along a vertical direction between a top end and a bottom end. The door may be rotatably mounted to the cabinet to move along a rotation path between an opened position and a closed position. The sensor assembly may be attached to the cabinet to detect a positional angle of the door. The sensor assembly may include a wave emission sensor directed at the rotation path to project an emitted wave and a wave reception sensor spaced apart from the wave emission sensor to receive a reflection of the emitted wave.

  • Publication number: 20230165430
Abstract: A method of operating a dishwashing appliance includes activating a pump for a predefined self-calibration time by supplying electrical power from a power supply to a motor of the pump. The method also includes monitoring, with the sensor circuit, electrical power between the power supply and the motor while the pump is activated for the predefined self-calibration time. The method further includes determining, based on the monitored electrical power, a motor type of the motor and selecting a set of control parameters corresponding to the determined motor type of the motor. The method also includes activating the pump according to the selected set of control parameters during at least one cycle of the dishwashing appliance.
