The license plate locking mechanism functions to secure a license plate to the motor vehicle. The control module includes a controller configured to interrupt power from a power source of the motor vehicle in response to disconnection of the license plate from the motor vehicle. A related antitheft method is also disclosed.

That system includes the closure latch release which may be hidden from view by a body element of the motor vehicle and a highlight feature adjacent the closure latch release that is in clear or plain view so that the closure latch release may be quickly and conveniently located.

The one or more processors include computer-executable instructions defining protected controls accessible via the HMI for operating one or more child-proof locks. The one or more processors may further include computer-executable instructions for engaging the child proof locks at predetermined time periods. Methods for controlling a child-proof door lock system are provided.
