  • Publication number: 20240172770
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for preparing a melanoidin product, the process comprising: a) an extraction step in which coffee grounds are treated with an extraction agent with a pH value greater than 7 to extract a melanoidin-containing solute in a fluid phase of the extraction agent; b) a first separation step in which the fluid phase is separated from the coffee grounds; c) a precipitation step in which the fluid phase is contacted (i) with an acid to obtain an acidic mixture with a pH value lower than 4 or (ii) with an organic phase separation agent and with an acid to obtain a mixture with a pH value in the range of from 4 to 8, thereby forming precipitates containing melanoidin; and d) a second separation step in which the formed precipitates are separated from the acidic mixture. The invention further relates to melanoidin nanoparticles and melanoidin nanofibers obtained from coffee grounds.

  • Publication number: 20230411949
Abstract: A DC solid state circuit breaker (SSCB) and DC circuit breaker system, the SSCB having a power module (40) with a first controlled power semiconductor (41), a DC-Link (50), a semiconductor (61) and a pre-charging system (70) with an impedance (71). The power module (40) connected between a first power terminal (31) and a second power terminal (32); the DC-Link (50) connected between the first power terminal (31) and an intermediate node (34); the semiconductor (61) connected between the intermediate node (34) and the second power terminal (32); the pre-charging system (70) connected between the intermediate node (34) and a third power terminal (33). During normal operation current can flow freely between the first (31) and second (32) power terminals without producing any additional losses due to the pre-charging system (70). No varistors or similar devices are required. Several SSCBs (30) may be combined for additional features.

  • Patent number: 9302164
Abstract: A golf grip for a golf club includes a cap, a body, a tip, and a grip surface. The body includes an under layer, a top layer, and a middle layer. The under layer includes a first color. The top layer includes a second color, different than the first color. The top layer is disposed on the under layer. The middle layer includes a third material. The middle layer is at least partially disposed between the under layer and the top layer. The tip is a portion of the under layer extending beyond the top layer and the middle layer. The grip surface extends between the cap and the tip. The grip surface is the radially outer surface of the body and includes the top layer, a plurality of exposed portions of the under layer, and a plurality of exposed portions of the middle layer.

  • Publication number: 20160038800
Abstract: A golf grip for a golf club includes a butt end, a tip end, a grip surface, and a gripping feature. The tip end includes a shaft opening. The grip surface extends between the butt end and the tip end. The grip surface is a tapered circular cylinder with an axis extending from the butt end to the tip end. The gripping feature includes a rake surface forming an acute angle with the grip surface. The rake surface extends into the grip at an acute angle relative to a plane perpendicular to the axis.

  • Patent number: 7413206
Abstract: A drive system for use with a bicycle includes first and second gears arranged so that the second gear is rotatably driven responsive to the first gear. A freewheel is operatively coupled to the second gear, and a drive sprocket is operatively coupled to the freewheel. The freewheel causes the drive sprocket to be rotatably driven only when the first gear is driven in either the first direction or the second direction. A driven sprocket may be mounted coaxially and in driving relationship with a wheel of the bicycle. A chain may be used for linking the drive sprocket and the driven sprocket. First and second levers extend from a support bar, which is coaxially mounted to the first gear. Reciprocal movement of the first and second levers causes the first gear to rotate, and correspondingly causes the second gear to rotate, thereby effecting rotation in the drive sprocket and the driven sprocket.
