    Abstract: A slider assembly for a computing device to interconnect at least two housing segments is disclosed. The first housing segment provides a first base plate and the second housing segment provides a second base plate. The slider assembly interconnects the two housing segments so that the segments may move about each other between a contracted and extended position. The slider assembly includes a rail that is provided with the first base plate and that engages a structure that is provided with the second base plate. The rail is enabled to move between one of the contracted or extended position. The slider assembly also includes a ground spring to maintain contact between the second base plate the rail.

    Abstract: A method and system integrates personal computer components to in an efficient manner that accommodates footprint and EMI demands. A base structure supports a flat panel display and enhances the stability of the display by placing the personal computer on the base structure. A support housing provides an attachment point for the display and also forms a cable cavity to enhance cable management for cables that interface external components with the personal computer. The personal computer has an inner casing with a mother board segment coupled in a hinged manner to a housing segment. The inner casing opens along the hinge to allow access to internal personal computer components, and closes during operation of the personal computer to meet EMI specifications. An outer casing encases the inner casing to enhance integration of the personal computer with other system components, such as by having a shape that conforms to the shape of a recess formed in the base structure.

The connecting trunk, the first connecting member, the independently actuatable button, the second connecting member, the torsion bar, and the independently actuatable rocking switch are all integrally formed and actuating the independently actuatable rocking switch does not affect the independently actuatable button.

    Abstract: A sliding door mechanism for a portable communication or data processing device is adapted for placement of the device on a docking port. The portable device has a component that is covered by the sliding door when the door is in a closed position. A single wire spring coupled with the door and the device has a spring force tending to keep the door closed. The door opens in response to placement of the device on the docking port rail. Upon placement of the device on the docking port rail, the docking port rail slides into guides on a door receptacle located on the housing of the device. The rails of the door in the closed position are slidably disposed in the door receptacle guides. The weight of the device causes the door receptacle guides to cover the docking port rail. As the door receptacle guides slide onto the docking port rail, the door rail is moved upwards into the device, the spring is compressed and the door opens.
