  • Patent number: 10615877
Abstract: An electro-absorption bias circuit may include a temperature sensor. The electro-absorption bias circuit may include a controller to provide a temperature-dependent control signal based on data received from the temperature sensor. The electro-absorption bias circuit may include a power supply to provide an output voltage based on the temperature-dependent control signal from the controller. The electro-absorption bias circuit may include an electro-absorption driving circuit to output a bias voltage applied to the output voltage provided by the power supply.

  • Publication number: 20150377526
Abstract: A thermoelectric cooler (TEC) circuit is provided that includes a power supply, a TEC, and an H-bridge. The H-bridge, which is coupled to the power supply and ground, controls a direction of current through the TEC. The H-bridge comprises at least two low-resistance switches in integrated circuit (IC) form. The IC switches are each controlled by a digital control signal referenced to ground and each have an ON resistance of about 25 m? or less.

  • Patent number: 7975493
Abstract: Systems and methods for controlling a thermoelectric cooler (TEC) in an optical transceiver. A TEC system includes a processor that interacts with a power supply and a TEC controller to prevent inrush current. The power supply is switched by the processor and turned on only at a particular time. The power supply has a relatively large time constant such that it ramps slowly to its full value. In the meantime, the processor and TEC controller cause the temperature to ramp to a target value by repeatedly incrementing or decrementing a target value over time and by controlling when the maximum available voltage can be applied to the TEC.

  • Patent number: 7309170
Abstract: In one example, an optical transceiver is provided that includes a ROSA and a TOSA received within a block portion of an OSA block. The OSA block also includes two groups of adjustable elements, one group for each of the ROSA and the TOSA. The adjustable elements of the first group engage the block portion so as to contact the ROSA, and the adjustable elements of the second group engage the block portion so as to contact the TOSA. The position of the adjustable elements in each respective group can then be varied as necessary to locate and/or maintain the ROSA and TOSA in desired positions and orientations relative to, for example, respective optical connector ports of the optical transceiver.
