  • Publication number: 20240238869
Abstract: A flow channel has lateral cross-sectional shapes that are circular in a first section, and rectangular in a second section. The flow channel in the first section is continuously connected to the flow channel in the second section. The rectangular shape has a long/short side ratio of 3 or greater and 7 or less. The second section has a cross-sectional area S2, the first section has a cross-sectional area S1, and S2>S1. There are two first openings, which are open, in one-to-one correspondence, in two side faces of the second section. There are two second openings, one of which is open while extending from one side face of the two side faces to a bottom face of the second section, and the other of which is open while extending from another one side face of the two side faces to the bottom face of the second section.

  • Patent number: 11964322
Abstract: Secondary cooling apparatus in a machine for continuous casting of metal products, such that each metal product is cast, contained and guided along an axis of movement. The secondary cooling apparatus includes a plurality of cooling assemblies disposed in sequence one to the other along the continuous casting machine. Each assembly includes a plurality of cooling units each provided with one or more nozzles disposed along the axis of movement. The cooling units of each assembly are adjacent to each other to cover a width at least equal to the maximum width of the metal product which can be cast in the continuous casting machine.

  • Patent number: 10549342
Abstract: A guiding unit for slabs comprising at least two rolls (10, 10?) connected to each other and adapted to rotate along a same axis X; wherein each roll comprises a first tubular element (12) and a second tubular element (5), which is external and coaxial to axis X and to the first tubular element and removable from said first tubular element; wherein cooling channels (3, 30) are provided in each roll between said first tubular element and said second tubular element for the passage of a coolant liquid; wherein each roll comprises a respective hub at its two ends; and wherein each hub is provided with cavities communicating with the cooling channels of the respective roll so as to define a path for the coolant liquid from a first end to a second end of the guiding unit crossing said at least two rolls.
