  • Publication number: 20090288367
Abstract: It is disclosed a vacuum skin packaging apparatus equipped with a cutting device. The apparatus comprises an arrangement for packaging products between a bottom thermoplastic web and a top thermoplastic web, wherein the top web forms a tight skin all around the products to be packed, thus sealing wherever the two webs contact each other. The cutting device comprises a laser source (LS) producing a laser beam (LB) at a first optical power and means (MR) for directing said laser beam at said first optical power towards the area where the two webs contact each other in a manner that the reflected laser beam (RLB) at said first optical power follows a predetermined path (CL) so that the two webs become cut and the products become packaged singularly.

  • Patent number: 7228674
Abstract: A vacuum packaging machine for performing a vacuum sealing operation on product packages, comprises a vertical stack of vacuum chambers 4 which each manage to receive at least one unsealed product package 2 and are operable to perform an independent vacuum sealing operation on the least one product package 2. A conveyor arrangement 8, 9 is operable to load and unload a selected vacuum chamber 4 with the at least one product package, and the machine is arranged to operate the respective vacuum chambers 4 to perform the vacuum sealing operation while the conveyor arrangement is operated to load and unload another vacuum chamber 4. The conveyor arrangement loads and unloads the vacuum chambers in sequence, and the vacuum chambers are synchronously operated to perform the vacuum sealing operation to allow the conveyor arrangement to operate continuously.

  • Patent number: 5941052
Abstract: A method of packaging includes unwinding a center-folded film from a roller, the center-folded film having a first web and a second web; forming a recess between the first and second film webs; feeding a plurality of products into the thus formed recess, as the film advances, the products spaced apart from each other, and the products having a first and second transverse side; sealing and severing the advancing film between each product to be packaged along each of the two transverse sides of each product so as to form a plurality of bags with one open mouth on a front side of each bag, wherein each bag encloses a respective product; and sealing or clipping each open bag mouth. An apparatus is also disclosed.
