Patent number: 11696416Abstract: A chassis for housing a computing device of an information handling system includes a receiving portion of an expansion card receiver that receives an expansion card and operably connects the expansion card to another component of the computing device while the expansion card is received by the receiving portion. The chassis further includes a management portion of the expansion card receiver that receives a force from a user and, in response to receiving the force: transitions the management portion from a first state to a second state. In the first state, a handle, that enables the expansion card to be removed from the chassis is disposed inside of the management portion and the expansion card receiver is locked to the chassis. In the second state, the handle is disposed outside of the management portion and the expansion card receiver is unlocked from the chassis.Type: GrantFiled: June 16, 2020Date of Patent: July 4, 2023Assignee: DELL PRODUCTS L.P.Inventors: Liang-Chun Ma, Matthew Bryan Gilbert, Richard A. Patent number: 11665840Abstract: A server information handling system couples to a rack and is secured with a security device coupled to one side of the information handling system housing clear of the front side of the information handling system so that the entire front side of the housing is available for venting and/or interface devices like a power switch and ports. The security device has a latch that moves vertically in response to an outward and upward pull on a lever engaged with the latch. The latch secures and releases the housing to the server rack, such as at the rail holding the housing in the rack, and releases a pin from a slot of a bezel that covers a front face of the server information handling system. The pin moves vertically in a channel of the latch and is biased to a locked position so that insertion of the server bezel onto the housing will lock the bezel with the pin while the lever remains in a locked position.Type: GrantFiled: January 24, 2022Date of Patent: May 30, 2023Assignee: Dell Products L.P.Inventors: Sean P. O'Donnell, Richard W. Guzman, Richard A. Crisp, Jean M. Doglio, Peter Clark, Kevin Keller

Patent number: 11570926Abstract: A latch to secure an access panel at an enclosure may include a shuttle component including a latch pin. The latch pin is configured to engage with a corresponding receptacle at the enclosure. A spring retracts the latch pin to within the access panel when the access panel is not positioned for installation at the enclosure, and permits the latch pin to protrude from the access panel to mate with the receptacle in response to magnetic attraction by a magnet positioned within the receptacle when the access panel is positioned for installation at the enclosure. The magnetic attraction of the magnet to the latch pin overcomes the force of the spring to retract the latch pin.Type: GrantFiled: November 13, 2020Date of Patent: January 31, 2023Assignee: Dell Products L.P.Inventors: Richard A. Crisp, Bernard D. Strmiska, Brad Philip Collins, Peter Kaltenbach
