  • Publication number: 20210214622
Abstract: The C2-C4 olefms and dienes and/or C1-C4 oxygenates in produced gas resulting from the catalytic pyrolysis of hiomass may he upgraded to C5+ hydrocarbons and/or C5+ oxygenates in the gaseous phase or in the liquid phase. In addition, the C2-C4 olefins and dienes and/or C1 -C4 oxygenates in produced water maybe upgraded to C5+ hydrocarbons and/or C5+ oxygenates in the gaseous phase.

  • Publication number: 20200181500
Abstract: Biomass is converted into a bio-oil containing stream in a riser reactor containing a cooling media. The cooling media quenches the rapid heat transfer to the biomass during cracking of the biomass in the mixing zone of the riser. By lowering the temperature to which the mixing zone effluent is exposed, production of carbon monoxide and light gases is decreased during thermolysis of the biomass.

    Publication date: June 11, 2020
Inventors: Bruce ADKINS, Lorenz J. BAUER, Ronald CORDLE, Richard A. ENGELMAN, J. Christopher LEWIS
  • Patent number: 10619103
Abstract: Biomass is converted into a bio-oil containing stream in a riser reactor having multiple ports for the entry of fresh catalyst. Hard coke formed during pyrolysis may be separated from the riser effluent fraction containing which contains spent catalyst, soft coke and char. The separated hard coke may then be fed back into the riser reactor. The riser reactor may further have a cooling media which quenches the rapid heat transfer to the biomass during pyrolysis of the biomass in the mixing zone of the riser.

  • Patent number: 10427069
Abstract: Disclosed is a process for the alteration of the ratio of the specific gravities of the oil and water phases resulting from the conversion of biomass to liquid products, the reduction of the conductivity and of metals of the product mixture, which each can aid in the removal of solids contained in the oil phase; and a liquid-liquid extraction method for partitioning desirable carbon containing compounds into the oil phase and undesirable carbon containing compounds into the water phase.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 11, 2016
Date of Patent: October 1, 2019
    Assignee: Inaeris Technologies, LLC

  • Patent number: 9156919
Abstract: In a method of removing alkylene halogenohydrin from a cellulose ether the cellulose ether is provided, water is added to the cellulose ether and subsequently alkylene halogenohydrin and water is removed from the cellulose ether by evaporation. Alternatively steam or a steam mixture can be sparged across or through the cellulose ether to remove halogenohydrin from the cellulose ether.
