  • Patent number: 11924601
Abstract: Various implementations include in-ear wearable audio devices. In certain implementations, the in-ear audio devices include an eartip with a body having first and second ends, an inner wall extending between the first and second ends defining a hollow passage to conduct acoustic energy, and a deformable outer wall connected to the inner wall of the body at the first end and tapering away from the inner wall toward the second end, where the deformable outer wall is functionally graded from the first end to the second end to comply with an entrance of an ear canal of a user. In additional implementations, the eartip includes a retaining structure, and at least one of the inner wall or the outer wall of the body, or the retaining structure, has an integral electronic component and/or an electronic component signal trace.

  • Patent number: 6106600
Abstract: An ink jet ink is disclosed which comprises a binder, a colorant, a conductivity controller and a liquid vehicle in which at least the binder and colourant are soluble, the binder being a nitrocellulose having a viscosity of 15 centipoise or less as measured by method 1 herein; or a weight average molecular weight of not more than 25,000 as measured by method 3 herein; or the nitrocellulose has both the said viscosity and the said weight average molecular weight;and in that the nitrocellulose has a nitrogen content of at least 9.5% by weight as measured by the method of ASTM D 301-72;and in that the ink has a viscosity of 1.6 to 4 centipoise at 25.degree. C. using a Brookfield DV-11+ viscometer with a number 00 spindle at 60 r.p.m (method 2 herein).

  • Patent number: 5485888
Abstract: A reamer bit for reaming in earth formations. In one embodiment, the bit provides a plurality of levels of stems onto which may be disposed semi-spherical reamer cutters. The cutters are arranged such that they are circumscribable within a sphere. The levels of stems may include as few as two stems or several. This arrangement provides for a significantly larger cutting area which, in turn, prevents premature bit wear. As s further advantage, the bit may include several levels with roller cutters having progressively increasing diameter to provide an arrangement which subscribes to a generally triangular formation.

  • Patent number: 5413183
Abstract: A reamer bit for reaming in earth formations. In one embodiment, the reaming bit provides spherical reaming faces with replaceable cutting bit holders. The holders include cutting bits. The spherical reaming faces are not appreciably susceptible to drag during a reaming procedure and premature wear of the faces is alleviated by the provision of bits. The overall result is a substantially improved apparatus for reaming which assists in cost reductions for the process.

  • Patent number: 5388653
Abstract: A drilling apparatus for directional drilling. A freely moveable connecting plate is seated in a seating provided for in a drill string motor support. The plate connects a drill string motor and a cylinder drive so that any mechanical stress transmitted by a drill string connected to the motor is substantially damped by the moveable plate. The result is that the drill string remains relatively true running to accurately bore while additionally preventing mechanical stress from damaging the cylinder, drill string motor or support therefor.

  • Patent number: 5320188
Abstract: There is disclosed an apparatus and method for drilling underground. The apparatus includes a conventional drilling bit and a shroud disposed around the drill bit to produce a confined for the suspension of drilling debris. The debris is withdrawn under suction from the area by a conduit system associated with the shroud and a cyclonic filter structure.

  • Patent number: 4908135
Abstract: New C-substituted crown ethers such as ##STR1## are made by reacting a 1,2-diol (chain length m'4) with ClCH.sub.2 --(CH.sub.2 --O--CH.sub.2 --).sub.n+1 CH.sub.2 Cl.These compounds have a stronger affinity for secondary amines than for tertiary amines and therefore may be used to separate mixtures, especially when attached to polysiloxane backbones or substrates via their unsaturated bond.

  • Patent number: 4427583
Abstract: Protein and other useful products are recovered from animal bone by comminuting fresh bone to small particles which are defatted and then demineralized by maintenance in suspension in hydrochloric acid in a bone/acid counterflow treatment carried out by passing the bone particles through a series of tanks in counterflow with hydrochloric acid passed through the tanks in the reverse direction. Between the tanks the bone/acid mixture is separated and delivered to the respective successive tank in counterflow. After completion of the acid treatment the demineralized bone is separated and washed to produce the final product.
