  • Patent number: 10591106
Abstract: A display system includes a display device having a wedge base to enable the display device to rest on a horizontal surface or to be mounted to a vertical surface in a number of different mounting configurations. A mounting kit provides parts usable to mount the display device to a wall or door jam in alternative ways. The mounting kit includes several modular parts, where many of the parts are usable in multiple mounting configurations, thereby reducing the number of parts needed for the kit. The mounting configurations include paths for cables to hide them when the display is installed.

  • Patent number: 10550633
Abstract: A reversible window shutter includes a frame and reversible panel inserts. The panel inserts can be attached to the frame in a first position in which a first side of the panel inserts are visible through the frame, and a second position in which a second side of the panel inserts are visible through the frame. Each side of the panel inserts can have a different design or style, giving the user the ability to change the visible style of the window shutter. Each panel inserts may be a two-part insert, with each panel insert part having an outer surface with a decorative design, and an inner surface with connection features configured to engage the connection features of the other panel insert part.

  • Publication number: 20200010237
Abstract: A deck box includes individual panels and a lid that are able to be assembled to one another without the need for external hardware. A bottom panel has guides or rails extending along the length of the bottom panel at opposing edge regions thereof. A pair of side panels are provided with guides or rails to enable sliding engagement and assembly of the side panels with the bottom panel. The side panels are also provided with guides or rails that extend toward the bottom panel when the side panels are assembled to the bottom panel. Front and rear panels are provided with guides or rails so that each of the front and rear panel can assemble between the assembled side panels, sliding into engagement in a direction toward the bottom panel. A lid has an integrally-molded hinge member that engages with an integrally-molded hinge member of the rear panel.

  • Patent number: 9981126
Abstract: A system and method for preventing the undesirable dissipation of charge throughout a tissue surface while maintaining the charge density at a desired tissue treatment site. The invention embodies a physical perimeter conductor positioned in proximity to a tissue surface and a conductance control circuit working in combination to collect surface charge applied within the confines of the perimeter conductor and to maintain a desired relationship between the contained surface charge density and time.

  • Patent number: 9486626
Abstract: The present invention provides a system and method of directing, focusing, or concentrating electrical charges within a defined electric field so that these charges can be used to exert forces on cells and tissues in vivo and/or cell cultures in vitro. The present invention reduces and/or eliminates the damage at a target site that would normally be caused by an electrode that acts as a current source or sink to accomplish the same task.

  • Patent number: 9345682
Abstract: Signal Transducer and Activator of Transcription (STAT) proteins have a fundamental role cell signaling, and are activated by a large number of cytokines and growth factors. One member of the STAT family, STAT3, has a critical role in oncogenesis. The present invention relates generally to disruption of the pathway of STAT3 signaling in the treatment of human cancer. STAT3 activation is shown to be present in diverse tumor cell lines and tumors, to promote oncogenesis, to inhibit apoptosis, and to reduce sensitivity to chemotherapeutic agents. Inhibition of STAT3 signaling induces apoptosis specifically in tumor cell lines, and increases sensitivity to chemotherapeutic agents. The invention relates more particularly to methods, compositions, means of administering such compositions, and means for identifying such compositions for the inhibition of STAT3 intracellular signaling in the treatment of human cancers.

  • Publication number: 20150291245
Abstract: The present invention was conceived based on observations of children learning to balance a bicycle and the turning versus leaning of the bicycle. The result is a tricycle which leans when it is steered and provides the additional feature of limiting the lean so the tricycle will not fall over. The fact that the lean is controlled by the rider based on steering input and the lean is limited inspires confidence in the rider to facilitate learning to balance as in a bicycle. A key to this rendition was to make it very similar to a conventional tricycle with the simplest implementation practical. In addition, the features described make this an excellent tool for relearning balance after a medical condition.

  • Patent number: 8914102
Abstract: Cell or tissue permeability to electrical signals can be used to determine the depth of anesthesia of a patient. A method and device is presented to measure, record and control the effects of anesthesia or analgesics on humans and/or animals. Based on impedance values of tissues measured at single, multiple, or a domain of frequencies, the system detects tissue permeability alterations as determined by electromagnetic, impedance, and/or dielectric spectroscopy. The system measures the permeability of tissues to electrical signals and correlates these values to the depth of anesthesia or sedation level of a certain tissue or individual. This method and device can be used to measure the effects of anesthesia or analgesic for either local or systemic administration.

  • Publication number: 20140034551
Abstract: A process is described for maximizing the FCC middle distillates comprising the use of two different converters, operating in a coordinated manner that seeks to maximize the production of LCO for diesel, generating a specified gasoline and reducing fuel oil production. Converter “A” operates with a low contact time in the riser, of 0.2 to 1.5 sec. (preferably from 0.5 to 1.0 sec.) making a higher reaction temperature possible even at low severity, from 510° C. to 560° C. (preferably from 530° C. to 550° C.) and with a catalyst suitable to the maximization of LCO. Converter “B” possesses a high activity catalytic system, suited to cracking naphtha and DO generated in the first converter. Preferably, converter “B” has two separate risers, allowing the reaction temperatures of each to be adjusted independently according to the range most recommended for maximizing the cracking of each of the streams: 530° C. to 560° C. for the DO riser and 540° C. to 600° C. for the naphtha riser.

  • Patent number: 8636177
Abstract: A method and apparatus for dispensing sanitizer fluid from a door handle, including a latch mechanism lever adapted for coupling to a door latch mechanism and a trigger lever coupled to the latch mechanism lever. The latch mechanism lever can be selectively actuated independent of the trigger lever to actuate the door latch mechanism without dispensing sanitizer fluid. The apparatus may further include a sanitizer fluid reservoir and a pump coupled to the trigger lever to control sanitizer fluid flow from the sanitizer fluid reservoir to a nozzle when the trigger lever is actuated, where the nozzle is positioned proximate the latch mechanism lever. Embodiments of the invention may further include a method of use of the apparatus.
