  • Publication number: 20060182603
Abstract: Tooling is described for securing to the movable end of a computer-controlled robotic arm, by which articles can be picked up, optionally rotated and lowered into a new position. The tooling comprises two blades each having a leading edge and trailing edge, movable between a first position in which their leading edges are separated by a large gap and a second position in which the leading edges overlap, or are in contact or are separated by a smaller gap. Drive means effects the relative movement between the two blades whereby in use the tooling can be lowered with the blades separated and on opposite sides of an article until the blades just make contact with a surface on which the article is resting, and the drive means is operated so as to move the blades inwardly below the article, so that when subsequently the tooling is raised the article is lifted therewith.

  • Patent number: 7026135
Abstract: Disclosed is a compound of Formula (I), wherein: L is a linking agent; B is a binding agent; X is an atom or group suitable for attaching L to the glycerol chain; and R is a straight chain saturated or unsaturated alkyl group having from 8 to 30 carbon atoms, substituted with M? or M? wherein at least one of M? and/or M? is a detectable label. The compound can be used as a lipase substrate in a solid phase-based assay system, such as a scintillation proximity assay, to detect lipase enzyme activity.

  • Publication number: 20050210152
Abstract: A system includes multiple server modules forming a server farm. Each server module includes one or more application caches which store availability information that indicates whether a corresponding application is available or unavailable. When a user makes a request for an application, the appropriate server module accesses its application cache to determine whether the application is available; if not, the server farm quickly notifies the user of the unavailability of the application. Further, synchronization strategies are described for distributing availability information among the server modules in the system, and for updating a server module that has recently become active with current availability information stored by other reference server modules.

  • Publication number: 20040014133
Abstract: Disclosed is a compound of Formula (I), wherein: L is a linking agent; B is a binding agent; X is an atom or group suitable for attaching L to the glycerol chain; and R is a straight chain saturated or unsaturated alkyl group having from 8 to 30 carbon atoms, substituted with M′ or M″ wherein at least one of M′ and/or M″ is a detectable label. The compound can be used as a lipase substrate in a solid phase-based assay system, such as a scintillation proximity assay, to detect lipase enzyme activity.

  • Publication number: 20030205639
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method and apparatus for compensating for a speed differential between an imaging system and an on-line development/finishing processor in an electronic pre-press system using a transfer buffer having a plurality of storage devices. Each storage device comprises a first section having first and second surfaces, a second section having first and second surfaces, and a system for securing the first and second sections together to form a storage device, wherein the storage device has a substantially cylindrical shape and includes a capture slot for capturing a leading end of the media, wherein the first surfaces of the first and second sections form the capture slot, and wherein the second surfaces of the first and second sections form an exterior surface of the storage device.
