Patent number: 9262872Abstract: A printable postage sheet includes a plurality of substantially equally sized preprinted postage labels arranged in a matrix of n rows by m columns, where n and m are integers. The plurality of preprinted postage labels are symmetrically arranged in the printable postage sheet with respect to a first axis and a second axis perpendicular to the first axis. Preprinted indicia on each of the preprinted postage labels are preprinted on generally the same location on all of the preprinted postage labels. The preprinted indicia are all oriented in a same orientation relative to the sheet. A printable area of each preprinted postage label is positioned on the label such that when indicia are printed on one or more of the preprinted postage labels, the indicia are positioned within the printable area irrespective of a right side up or upside down feeding orientation of the printable postage sheet into a printer.Type: GrantFiled: November 21, 2008Date of Patent: February 16, 2016Assignee: PSI SYSTEMS, INC.Inventors: Meghan Novack, Richard Hernandez, Stephen Lee Kearney

Patent number: 9112655Abstract: Integrated circuits with high-speed communications capabilities are provided. Such types of integrated circuits may include clock data recovery (CDR) circuitry. The CDR circuitry may receive incoming data and may generate multiple clock signals that are used to latch the incoming data. The CDR circuitry may include data latching circuitry for separately latching even and odd data bits in alternating clock cycles. In particular, the data latching circuitry may be controlled using first, second, third, and fourth clock signals having different respective phase settings. The first and second clock signals may be used to capture even and odd data bits, respectively. The third and fourth clock signals may be used to sample data near the transition between the even and odd data bits. The phase of the first and second clock signals may be dynamically adjusted. The phase setting that yields the optimal link performance may be selected for normal operation.Type: GrantFiled: July 30, 2013Date of Patent: August 18, 2015Assignee: Altera CorporationInventors: Tim Tri Hoang, Weiqi Ding, Sangeeta Raman, Richard Hernandez

Patent number: 9065399Abstract: A voltage-mode differential driver is disclosed. The differential driver includes two driver arms, each driver arm including a variable-impedance driver for driving a single-ended output signal. Each variable-impedance driver comprises multiple driver slices, where each driver slice includes a pre-driver circuit and a driver circuit. Advantageously, it has been determined that the disclosed voltage-mode driver design requires less power than conventional current-mode drivers. In one implementation, the disclosed voltage-mode driver design provides the capability of independently programming the delay of the two single-ended outputs so as to compensate for differential skew. Other embodiments and features are also disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: June 14, 2013Date of Patent: June 23, 2015Assignee: Altera CorporationInventors: Bonnie I. Wang, Weiqi Ding, Tim Tri Hoang, Richard Hernandez, Haidang Lin

Patent number: 8751409Abstract: The system and method described herein may securely disseminate and manage postal rate information, including discount or custom postal rates established in contractual agreements negotiated between a postal service and certain mailers, among other postal rate types. For example, the postal service may upload postal rates to a server associated with a postage vendor and optionally associate the postal rates with particular mailers. The postal service and/or postage vendor may then validate whether the postal rates were correctly uploaded, and the postage vendor may then enable applicable mailers to utilize the postal rates in response to validating that the postal rates were correctly uploaded. Additionally, the postage vendor may maintain records relating to postage transactions, which a mailer can use to support a request to negotiate the custom postal rates with the postal service and subsequently prove compliance with any terms and conditions associated therewith.Type: GrantFiled: September 9, 2011Date of Patent: June 10, 2014Assignee: PSI Systems, Inc.Inventors: George Hill, Richard Hernandez

Patent number: 8584729Abstract: A mechanism for operating a dual shade covering a window with a single handle. The mechanism provides a first glide attached by a pulley system to the first shade of the dual shade, and a second glide attached by a pulley system to the second shade of the dual shade. The first glide and the second glide are slidably disposed within a track assembly, and a master glide is disposed in the track assembly between the first glide and the second glide. The master glide engages the first glide to lower the first shade, and is detached from the first glide along the track assembly by a disengaging plate. The master glide engages the second glide to lower the second shade, and is detached from the second glide along the track assembly by a disengaging plate.Type: GrantFiled: April 28, 2011Date of Patent: November 19, 2013Inventors: Lauren H Fillmore, Richard Hernandez

Patent number: 8521653Abstract: A method and system of providing postage indicia to a user. The method includes receiving an account number of the user at a computer server associated with a postage provider and receiving a request to print one or more postage indicia from the user at the computer server. The method further includes selectively prompting the user to enter an activation code associated with a plurality of postage labels by the computer server, wherein the prompting is waived if a predetermined parameter is satisfied; and sending, by the computer server, an authorization to print one or more postage indicia on at least one of the plurality of postage labels to the user if the activation code is valid.Type: GrantFiled: November 21, 2008Date of Patent: August 27, 2013Assignee: PSI Systems, Inc.Inventors: Meghan Novack, Richard Hernandez, Stephen Lee Kearney, Patrick Herbert Castaldo, Aaron Tuller
