  • Publication number: 20140345184
Abstract: A spring clasp guide for providing an easier method of feeding a fishing line through a fishing guide comprising a substantially circular body and a spring clasp mechanism which, when actuated reveals a closeable gap in the circumference body portion of the guide. By revealing a gap in the body of the guide through which fishing line can be received, the spring clasp mechanism eliminates the need for a fisherman to feed line through the eyes of a plurality of guides sequentially and spend excessive time on preparing a fishing pole. On the contrary, a fisherman utilizing spring clasp guides on a fishing rod can simply actuate the spring clasp mechanism, insert the line through the closeable gap that is created, and release the spring clasp mechanism to cause the closeable gap to vanish and restore the integrity of the circumference body portion of the guide.

  • Publication number: 20030203695
Abstract: The present invention provides a splittable multicomponent fiber containing at least two polymer components arranged in distinct non-occlusive segments across the cross-section of the fiber, wherein the segments are continuous along the length of the fiber, and wherein at least one of the polymer components comprises about 10 percent to about 95 percent by weight of filler material. The invention also provides split fibers, and fabrics containing the split fibers produced from the splittable multicomponent fiber, and laminates containing the split fiber fabric. Additionally provided is a process for producing the split fibers and fabrics.

  • Patent number: 4011981
Abstract: A method of bonding film-forming metals and their alloys has been developed. The method comprises applying a first coating of a metal, compound, or alloy of the platinum metal group to the film-forming metal. A second coating of copper is then applied to the first coating. A second metal, such as steel, can then be readily soldered to the copper coating to form a strong, durable bond. This bonding method can be used, for example, to solder a titanium screen or mesh to an electroconductive metal in the assembly of electrolytic cells for the production of chlorine or oxychlorine compounds.
