  • Publication number: 20130282612
Abstract: Systems and methods for calculating a return on partnership investment are presented. An example system includes a first module to receive a reseller input representative of a cost related to a reseller selling a product of a selling partner and a cost assumption input representative of a cost related to buying the product from the selling partner, and generate a reseller output as a function of the reseller input, the reseller output related to a cost of the reseller. The system may further include a report module to receive the reseller output and the cost assumption input and to generate a report output as a function of the reseller output and cost assumption input, the report output comprising a return on partnership investment.

  • Publication number: 20060089375
Abstract: The invention relates to a compound of formula (I) or a salt thereof: wherein: R1 is C1-4alkyl, C1-3fluoroalkyl, —CH2CH2OH or —CH2CH2CO2C1-2alkyl; R2 is a hydrogen atom (H), methyl or C1fluoroalkyl; R3 is optionally substituted C3-8cycloalkyl or optionally substituted mono-unsaturated-C5-7cycloalkenyl or an optionally substituted heterocyclic group of sub-formula (aa), (bb) or (cc); in which n1 and n2 independently are 1 or 2; and in which Y is O, S, SO2, or NR10; or R3 is a bicyclic group (dd) or (ee): and wherein X is NR4R5 or OR5a. The compounds are phosphodiesterase (PDE) inhibitors, in particular PDE4 inhibitors. Also provided is the use of a compound of formula (I), or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, in the manufacture of a medicament for the treatment and/or prophylaxis of an inflammatory and/or allergic disease in a mammal such as a human, for example chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, or allergic rhinitis.

  • Publication number: 20050023874
Abstract: A compound stool provides a base supporting a seat structure for limited vertical motion with an energy storing spring communicating between the base and seat structure to bias the seat structure upwardly but allow its motion downward relative to the base. The seat structure moves downwardly responsive to a user's weight as the user is seated to store energy generated in the spring by its compression. The spring releases stored energy as the user exits from the stool to aid the user's exiting motion. The base provides auxiliary wheels for locomotion and peripheral supports to aid a user's motion in entering and exiting the stool. The seat structure may be locked in lowermost position, once attained by a user's weight thereon.

  • Patent number: 5998701
Abstract: Potato plants which exhibit reduced levels of .alpha. glucan L-type tuber phosphorylase (GLTP) or .alpha. glucan H-type tuber phosphorylase (GHTP) enzyme activity within the potato tuber are provided. The conversion of starches to sugars in potato tubers, particularly when stored at temperatures below 7.degree. C., is reduced in tubers exhibiting reduced GLTP or GHTP enzyme activity. Reducing cold-sweetening in potatoes allows for potato storage at cooler temperatures, resulting in prolonged dormancy, reduced incidence of disease, and increased storage life. Methods for producing potato plants which produce tubers exhibiting reduced GLTP or GHTP enzyme activity are also provided.

  • Patent number: 5782580
Abstract: A method is provided for remediation of soils contaminated with at least one volatile organic contaminant, such as benzene, toluene, xylene, polynuclear aromatics and the like. The method includes placing a layer of a vapor barrier material over the contaminated soil and thereafter treating the soil so as to stabilize the soil and thereby reduce emissions of the volatile organic contaminants therefrom. The vapor barrier material is selected from oil-based muds, natural gels, and aqueous surfactant-based foams, and in particular, certain aqueous surfactant based foams which are relatively easy to generate and use, as well as being long-lasting in effect. The method may obviate the need to chemically treat a remediation site, or erect costly containment structures, such as a tent or canopy, to reduce emissions of the volatile contaminants during soil remediation activities.

  • Patent number: 5779842
Abstract: A method of coating an area of an electrode with an erosion resistant material. The method comprises bringing into contact with the area a web which contains the erosion resistant material and which carries an adhesive so that the web adheres to the electrode. The electrode and the adhered web are then heated to a temperature high enough to cause the adhesive to decompose, volatilize, or both such that the adhesive is substantially eliminated from the web and such that the erosion resistant material fuses and bonds to the electrode.

  • Patent number: 5718227
Abstract: A transmitter directs a narrow RF ultrasonic beam through a body cavity to a receiver on the other side of the cavity. The beam is steered to be intercepted by audio signal sources in the body cavity, such as a fetal heart or multiple fetal hearts, which modulate the ultrasonic beam. The received parametric beam is demodulated and filtered to provide a relatively noise free audio reproduction of an audio signal source. In one embodiment, two transmitters are steered independently to direct respective beams to respective receivers to produce two signals and, thus, a binaural audio reproduction of an audio signal source. The audio reproduction is at a maximum when the two beams intersect at the audio signal source.

  • Patent number: 4798456
Abstract: A hyperacuity testing method is suitably programmed for quantitatively measuring metamorphopsia of a patient's visual system, detecting and measuring metamorphopsia behind a media opacity, such as cataract, and detecting and measuring smaller amounts of metamorphopsia and other visual distortions than previously possible. The method comprises displaying at least two spaced and fixed first spots on a screen, along with a movable second spot. A patient is instructed to selectively move the second spot relative to the fixed first spots whereby the clinician is enabled to comparatively record separation distances and displacement of the second spot relative to the first spots.
