  • Publication number: 20240110698
Abstract: A combustion burner includes a burner body with a central bore. A swirl generator insert is provided having vanes which impart a swirl pattern, with minimal pressure loss, to an axial flow of forced air passing from an air inlet end though the swirl generator. An annular fuel gas manifold has a plurality of gas jets positioned adjacent to the sidewall at spaced intervals 360 degrees around the gas manifold. A mixing chamber is positioned downstream of the gas manifold to mix fuel gas from the gas jets with the air exiting the swirl generator insert to create a fuel/air mixture. A combustion chamber is positioned downstream of the mixing chamber. An igniter passage extends through the burner body to position an igniter downstream of the mixing chamber to ignite the fuel/air mixture entering the combustion chamber.

  • Patent number: 4610158
Abstract: A method for testing drilling compounds, particularly drilling fluids and cements to determine the drilling fluid and cements ability to seal porous formations surrounding the borehole. The method would generally comprise obtaining a representative sample of drilling compound for testing, particular drilling fluid or cement, that has been or will be injected down the borehole and recovered for testing. The sample of fluid is then filtered through a filter press or the like having a porous filter disk with measured size openings that can be closely controlled, or having absolute filtration ability. The sample is then filtered through the disk, usually under pressure, and the rate or the time that the drilling fluid takes to seal a specific size opening in a specific disk is recorded by the number of cubic centimeters of drilling fluids that is recovered until such a seal is established. The test is conducted for a prescribed period of time (30 min.

  • Patent number: 4209666
Abstract: In a multiplex signalling system for two-way data transmission over a single transmission line, the line is configured as a loop terminating at each end at a central or control station, thereby furnishing two communication paths between the central station and each of a plurality of remote stations distributed along the line. Transmission of signals from the central station and reception of signals at the control station are duplicated at the line ends so that an open line fault can readily be identified from an analysis of signals received at the central station. Switches at the remote stations operable in accordance with reception of signals along both communication paths serve to isolate and identify line ground faults.

  • Patent number: 3987425
Abstract: The circuit is adaptable for electric apparatus, particularly trolley buses and the like, where the apparatus derives its power from a pair of electric power lines, and the body of the apparatus is insulated from ground. One of the pair of electric power lines is at, or very nearly at, ground potential. The circuit provides a known test resistance interposed between the body of the apparatus and the most negative of the power lines so that the test resistance is effectively in series with the leakage resistance between the electric power lines; thereby permitting a measurement between the body of the apparatus and the most negative of the power lines to determine current flow through the known resistance greater than a predetermined minimum. When the current flow through the known resistance is higher than the predetermined minimum, the body of the apparatus is at a voltage above ground sufficient that a hazardous condition might exist, and an alarm status is initiated.
