  • Patent number: 8370970
Abstract: This device incorporates a new method for attachment of a pop-up drain stopper to the pivot rod which controls its mechanical motion as is typical in bathroom sinks, thereby providing the consumer with a simple and convenient method of removing and installing the stopper as is needed for extraction of drain clogs. As shown in FIG. 5, the stopper is inserted into the drain with the connecting journal channel opening (6) positioned over the pivot rod (8). Downward pressure is applied (FIG. 6) forcing the pivot rod to pass through the channel and snap into the connecting journal (FIG. 7). Transversely, by pulling upward, the stopper disengages from the pivot rod and is removed from the drain opening. By incorporating two or more conjoined connecting journals in an elongated connecting bracket (FIG. 8), the stopper can accommodate a wider range of pivot rod placement.

  • Publication number: 20130031908
Abstract: A transfer tube for use in a late lean injection system of a combustor, wherein the combustor includes an inner radial wall, which defines a primary combustion chamber downstream of a primary fuel nozzle, and an outer radial wall, which surrounds the inner radial wall forming a flow annulus therebetween, the outer radial wall including a late lean nozzle, the transfer tube including flow directing structure that defines a fluid passageway. At a first end, the flow directing structure may include an inlet and attachment means that attach the transfer tube to the late lean nozzle. The flow directing structure may have a configuration such that the fluid passageway spans the flow annulus and positions the outlet at a desirable injection point in the inner radial wall.

  • Patent number: 8356673
Abstract: A down-hole tool provided with a transmitter system for inducing a transient electromagnetic field in an earth formation has an induction coil with a number of windings to generate essentially a magnetic dipole field. The number of windings is divided into two or more groups of windings arranged to cooperatively generate the essentially magnetic dipole field when energized. Switching means are arranged to essentially simultaneously terminate the energizing of the groups of windings. The groups of windings are electrically isolated from each other or connected in parallel to each other, at least when the energizing is terminated. A transient electromagnetic field may thus be induced in an earth formation by essentially simultaneously terminating energizing each group of windings by operating the switching means. A transient electromagnetic response signal may be recorded, and used in a method of producing a mineral hydrocarbon fluid.

  • Patent number: 8344627
Abstract: A method of generating a glow discharge plasma involves providing a pair of electrodes spaced apart by an electrode gap, and having a dielectric disposed in the electrode gap between the electrodes; placing the electrodes within an environment, wherein the electrode gap can be provided with a gas or gas mixture containing carbon at a specified pressure; and applying a rapid rise time voltage pulse across the electrodes to cause an extreme overvoltage condition, wherein the rapid rise time is less than a plasma generation time so that the extreme overvoltage condition occurs prior to current flow across the electrode gap. This abstract is not to be considered limiting, since other embodiments may deviate from the features described in this abstract.
