  • Publication number: 20080011928
Abstract: A hanger assembly configured to mount a fan housing in a building including a first support having a lower surface and a second support. The hanger includes a body having a first end engageable with the first support and a second end engageable with the second support. The body is connectable to the fan housing to support the fan housing between the first and second supports and is adjustable to change a length defined between the first and second ends. The first end includes an outwardly extending flange, which is engageable with the first support to orient the body and the fan housing relative to the lower surface of the first support and to maintain a predetermined distance between the lower surface of the support and a lower surface of one of the fan housing and the hanger body.

  • Publication number: 20050081458
Abstract: The breakaway support for overhead lines is a coordinated failure control device. The breakaway support for overhead lines sacrifices itself to ensure that the supporting structure is not damaged. The device has an intentional weak link. The breakaway support for overhead lines will release when the overhead line it is supporting receives a stress that exceeds the tensile strength of the weak link in the breakaway support for overhead lines. The stress causes the weak link to fail. The structure is not damaged and a repair crew can quickly affect repairs. It is much cheaper and easier to reconnect an overhead line than it is to replace or repair a structure and then reconnect the overhead line.

  • Patent number: 4351272
Abstract: When a sow lies down in a conventional pig farrowing crate, piglets are often crushed as they are unable to move out of the way fast enough. This invention consists of an inwardly curved bar pivoted by the outer ends thereof between a pair of supports extending between the comfort bar and the bar immediately thereabove same. It normally is retained in a horizontal position by means of stops and these bars prevent the sow from lying down quickly as they interfere. With the bars in place, the sow has to maneuver as she lies down in order to get her back under one bar and the other underneath the other bar. This slows down the movement of the sow considerably thus enabling the piglets time to get out of the way. When the sow stands up, the bars pivot upwardly giving her sufficient room to stand whereupon they return by gravity to the original horizontal position.

  • Patent number: 4139942
Abstract: A process for producing long-lasting corrosion resistant carbon steel razor blades and the products made thereby. The process comprises first coating the cutting edges of the blades with chromium; and then immersing the blades in an electroless coating bath to provide a coating of a nickel-phosphorous, nickel- copper- phosphorous, cobalt-phosphorous or cobalt-nickel-phosphorous coating material on at least the bodies of the blades, the chromium coating preventing beading up of the coating material on the cutting edges of the blades to an extent that would require resharpening of the cutting edges. The blades may thereafter be overcoated with a carboxy-substituted silicone oil composition preferably comprising therein a long chain aliphatic acid, alcohol, amide and mixtures thereof.
