  • Publication number: 20070189518
Abstract: An encryption method based on a controlled permutation algorithm using a three-dimensional quaternion quantum fractal image to establish a nearly infinite range of data from which encryption keys can be derived. The data of the fractal is converted at base 16 to yield millions of possible combinations for each pixel of the image, identified using only ten symbols in standard Unicode format. The encryption technique employs pointers and parameters to transmit key data rather than actual keys, lowering processor overhead. The result is encryption designed for computer applications that is government standard compliant and capable of withstanding brute force attacks from existing super-computers and quantum computers of the future.

  • Patent number: 6798914
Abstract: A method for compressing images uses artificial intelligence and neural-network-based techniques to convert digital image data into symbolic data. The symbolic data is then further compressed using, for example, run-length-limited coding. The result is compressed data that represents the original image data at a high compression ratio. Such high compression ratios are useful, for example, in medical diagnostic and high-definition television applications.

  • Patent number: 6630938
Abstract: Image calibration is performed for an image display apparatus. A known image is scanned with the image scanning apparatus using a first scanning resolution of the image scanning apparatus to obtain a scanned known image. The scanned known image is displayed on the image display apparatus using the first scanning resolution as a displayed known image. The image display apparatus is adjusted such that the displayed known image is an exact replica of the known image.

  • Patent number: 6509575
Abstract: An imaging recording method and an apparatus for its implementation, including applying a light to an image to produce imaged light, passing the imaged light through a filter unit to provide filtered light, and recording the filtered light on an optical detector to produce a recorded image. The filter unit includes a first filter and a second filter. The first filter is polarization selective and the second filter is wavelength selective.
