  • Patent number: 8057188
Abstract: A compressor component having an airfoil with a profile in accordance with Table 1 is disclosed. The compressor component, such as a compressor blade, has an increased thickness over a portion of the airfoil span in order to increase stiffness. Furthermore, the airfoil has been restacked so as to induce a compressive stress in the blade root/attachment area. The increased stiffness and restacked airfoil combine to improve high-cycle fatigue capability of the compressor component.

  • Publication number: 20080066773
Abstract: Hair care products represent a world-wide multi-billion dollar industry. Pre-formed polymers are commonly used in a variety of hair care products including shampoos, conditioners, gels, and hair sprays. The present invention provides technology for polymerizing monomers on hair in situ to produce desired hair characteristics. This eliminates the solubility and application issues found with some polymers. The polymerization of monomers on hair is typically initiated using a thermal or photoinitiatied free radical initiator. In certain embodiments, the monomers are fluorinated thereby producing a fluorinated polymer on the hair upon polymerization. The invention provides monomers, initiators, methods, and kits for use in treating hair with polymers.

  • Publication number: 20050205570
Abstract: A two-compartment container has a lid portion and a base portion hingedly connected to one another and openable and closable in the manner of a clamshell. Both the lid portion and the base portion have partitions, which extend from the hinge and which are aligned with one another. When the container is closed, the partitions abut against one another, effectively isolating the two compartments formed in the base portion by its partition from one another. The base portion includes a locking flap which fits into a gap between the partition in the lid portion and its face and seals it to further isolate the two compartments from one another.

  • Publication number: 20050126103
Abstract: Self-adhering flashing cap strip and end lap connector cap sheet assemblies include a reinforcing layer encapsulated within self-adhering bitumen. The bottom major surfaces of the flashing cap strips and the connector end lap cap sheets are formed by the self-adhering bitumen and the top major surfaces of the flashing cap strips and the connector end lap cap sheets have lateral edge portions formed by the self-adhering bitumen and a coated central portion that extends between the lateral edge portions. The flashing cap strips are used to interconnect cap sheets at roof surface intersections in the formation of waterproof roofing layers and the connector end lap sheets are used to connect lengths of cap sheets at the job site.
