  • Patent number: 11537918
Abstract: In some examples, a document can be received and parsed to identify sentences of the document. A plurality of domain natural language classifiers (NLCs) trained based on domain training data associated with a respective domain of a plurality of domains can be programmed to classify each identified sentence to determine a sentence confidence score for each identified sentence. A plurality of document confidence scores for the document can be determined based on sentence confidence scores determined by the plurality of domain NLCs. Each document confidence score can characterize a relevance of the document to the respective domain of the plurality of domains. Document similarity data identifying at least one document among documents associated with a corresponding domain of the plurality of domains can be generated based on an evaluation of the document confidence scores for the given document and document confidence scores for the documents associated with the corresponding domain.

  • Patent number: 9439660
Abstract: A method of, and apparatus for, arthroplasty of a knee joint comprising obtaining a desired spacing of the femur from the tibia by inserting a spacer into the knee joint between the femur and the tibia. The spacer is used as a reference for securing a guide jig in position about the knee joint for guiding resection of one or both of the femur and tibia for fitting of tibial and/or femoral prostheses. A method of resecting the femur while moving the tibia through an arc of motion to remove bone to the desired depth, a method of determining the position of the guide jig, the guide jog, an alignment device and the spacer are also described.

  • Patent number: 6969393
Abstract: A cutting device for being inserted into a knee joint between the tibia and the femur, wherein the cutting device is adapted for resecting bone from the femur to a desired depth in a path of travel of the tibia when located in the knee joint and operated as the tibia is moved through an arc of motion about the femur between backward and forward positions. A cutting device is also disclosed for being inserted into a knee joint between the tibia and the femur for resecting bone from the tibia to a desired depth to form a recess in a condyle of the tibia for reception of a tibial implant, comprising a body being located between the tibia and the femur, a cutter for resecting the bone from the tibia to form the recess and a drive mechanism for driving the cutter to resect the bone and being arranged in the body, wherein the cutter is mounted on the body and protrudes therefrom for resecting the bone from the tibia.

  • Patent number: 6364519
Abstract: A relatively rigid container for packaging bone cement powder. The container is filled with the powder and then sealed with a lid. To access the powder, the nurse simply peels back the lid. Because no tearing or cutting open is required as with the current pouches used to store cement powder, the likelihood of powder loss and contamination is reduced and the quality of the resulting cement thereby enhanced. The container may be shaped to guide and/or mate with a funnel that guides the powder into the mixing chamber of the cement mixer. Additionally, the container may be shaped to allow for actual mixing of the powder and the liquid within the container. The liquid monomer is then simply added to the powder already in the container, drastically reducing the risk of powder loss.

  • Patent number: 5624850
Abstract: Immunoassay methods employing capillary containers are provided. The immunoassays may be competitive or sandwich immunoassays, where fluorescently labeled conjugates are used. Sample suspected of containing analyte is combined with fluorescently labeled conjugate, as well as any additional reactants which may be required. At least a portion of the incubated sample is placed in a capillary container. The capillary container has, on at least one region of its inner surface, a binding member capable of complexing with the fluorescently labeled conjugate, either directly or indirectly. Fluorescently labeled conjugate not complexed to binding member is then washed from the capillary container. The complexed fluorescently labeled conjugate is detected by irradiating the capillary and measuring the emitted signal. The intensity of the emitted signal is indicative of the presence of analyte in the sample.
