  • Patent number: 5380337
Abstract: A mesh appliance and method for use in excising skin samples from stretched skin, as in taking punch biopsies. The appliance is placed on a stretched skin area and maintains the skin in stretched condition during the sample incising operation. It is used with the skin stretched in the direction perpendicular to the skin Langer's lines, thereby producing a skin opening which is elliptical in contour and effectively sutured.

  • Patent number: 5123907
Abstract: An appliance for use in excising skin samples from stretched skin, as in taking punch biopsies. The appliance comprises a piece of material having a transverse central opening dimensioned to clear the sample-incising tool. It also has a skid-resistant, skin-contacting surface and an opposite pressure-applying surface. It is adapted for placement on a stretched skin area with its skid-resistant surface in pressure contact with the stretched skin and its pressure applying surface positioned for the application of digital pressure as required to maintain the skin in stretched condition during the sample-incising operation. The appliance preferably is used with the skin stretched in a direction perpendicular to the skin Langer's lines, thereby producing a skin defect which is elliptical in contour and effectively sutured.

  • Patent number: 4953315
Abstract: A display device for automobiles and other vehicles alternately displays two different messages in an interesting manner calculated to attract attention. The device comprises an outer case having a plurality of spaced windows and, mounted within the case, a slide having a plurality of spaced indicia spelling out the two messages. Windows and indicia are positioned in such a manner that upon relative movement of slide and case, produced by inertial, centrifugal or gravitational forces generated by the vehicle movement, the slide alternates between two positions within the case, thereby alternately spelling out the two messages.

  • Patent number: 4270537
Abstract: A hypodermic syringe and automatic needle insertion device wherein the syringe is biased against a trigger when the needle is in its retracted position. Upon release of the trigger the syringe and needle are driven forward, extending the needle into the underlying tissue. The depth of insertion may be predetermined by the attachment of an interchangeable stop or foot extension.

  • Patent number: 4159780
Abstract: A child-resistant container, e.g. a child-resistant medicine bottle, comprises in combination a container having a neck, a plug or other closure insertable in the neck with the plane of its upper surface extending not substantially beyond the plane of the upper surface of the neck, and rotary interengaging means interengaging the closure and the container neck. A key adapted to overlie the closure has gravity-actuated pin and socket means capable of releasably interengaging the closure and the key. Upon application, the key is operative to engage the closure with the neck and to disengage it therefrom.
