  • Publication number: 20170212581
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer programs are disclosed for controlling power efficiency in a multi-processor system. The method comprises determining a core stall time due to memory access for one of a plurality of cores in a multi-processor system. A core execution time is determined for the one of the plurality of cores. A ratio of the core stall time versus the core execution time is calculated. • Patent number: 9686383
Abstract: Synchronization of traffic multiplexing in link aggregation is described. In an embodiment, a first link aggregator and a second link aggregator are associated with a plurality of links. The first link aggregator maintains an identifier for each link indicating at least a state of enabled or disabled. A synchronized clock is established between the first link aggregator and the second link aggregator. A particular link of the plurality of links is transitioned. Wherein, the transitioning is performed by the first link aggregator sending, to the second link aggregator, a first message identifying a particular time to transition the particular link. The first link aggregator receives, from the second link aggregator, a second message indicating that the particular time is acceptable. In response to a determination that the second message indicates that the particular time is acceptable and that the synchronized clock has reached the particular time, transitioning the link.

  • Publication number: 20170162235
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for providing memory channel interleaving with selective power/performance optimization. One such method comprises configuring an interleaved zone for relatively higher performance tasks, a linear address zone for relatively lower power tasks, and a mixed interleaved-linear zone for tasks with intermediate performance requirements. A boundary is defined among the different zones using a sliding threshold address. The zones may be dynamically adjusted, and/or new zones dynamically created, by changing the sliding address in real-time based on system goals and application performance preferences. A request for high performance memory is allocated to a zone with lower power that minimally supports the required performance, or may be allocated to a low power memory zone with lower than required performance if the system parameters indicate a need for aggressive power conservation. Pages may be migrated between zones in order to free a memory device for powering down.

  • Publication number: 20170139469
Abstract: Components of a portable computing device produce power supply voltage requests indicating requested power levels. In response to the power supply voltage requests, power multiplexers associated with the components select and couple corresponding voltage rails associated with two or more fixed-voltage power supplies to the requesting components. Power supplies may be activated and deactivated on an as-requested basis.

  • Patent number: 9465423
Abstract: Various embodiments of methods and systems for thermal energy management in a portable computing device (“PCD”) based on power level calculations are disclosed. An exemplary method includes tracking instantaneous operating temperatures and active power supply levels to one or more components. With an estimate or measurement of ambient temperature, the instantaneous operating temperature values and active power supply level values can be used to calculate an instantaneous thermal resistance value. In the event that thermal energy generation should be managed, a target operating temperature may be used with the ambient temperature and the instantaneous thermal resistance value to solve for an optimum power supply level. The active power supply level may then be adjusted based on the calculated optimum power supply level.

  • Patent number: 9089222
Abstract: A simulated platform bed panel system is designed for use with a bed system such as a bed frame adapted to support a mattress above a floor surface. The simulated platform bed panel system creates the appearance of a platform bed upon which the mattress appears to be supported and includes first and second generally rectangular side panels. The simulated platform bed panel system also includes a generally rectangular foot panel. Each of the panels has an exterior aspect having a decorative feature, and the panels are cooperable to be situated in a set defining a U-shape with the exterior aspects directed outwardly. The side panels define the legs and the foot panel defines the yoke of the U-shape. The panels may be rigid and/or may have top sides which are free relative to each other.
