  • Publication number: 20070040400
Abstract: The anthropomorphic hand herein disclosed has finger-representing digits of generally conventional configuration, but the thumb-representing digit of the hand is of a novel configuration and the plan with which all digits are articulated is in two parts, the thumb- and the first and second finger-representing digits being articulated with one palm part, and the third and fourth finger-representing digits being articulated with the second palm part for angular displacement, about, inter alia, axes which are similarly inclined at an acute angle towards the first and second finger-representing digits. By virtue of the thumb-representing digit configuration, the two part palm, and the manner of articulation of the third and fourth finger-representing digits therewith, the hand exhibits great dexterity, possessing, as it does, all twenty four degrees of freedom present in the human hand.

  • Publication number: 20060206246
Abstract: This invention is a societal management and security system to aid the United States and world populous in discovering a secure and civil way to move from a finite economy of fossil fuels that is causing today's future shock, cultural encroachment and tension; to a technically and economically expansive co-existence available through alternative fueling with new and diversified technologies, which can reduce today's cultural tensions worldwide. Societies can fairly voice concerns and accurately monitor, evaluate, manage and control the impact of equipment, technology and technology policy on the earth's environment, its societies, cultures and infrastructures. The invention can help humanity frame the issues locally, regionally, nationally and globally to answer the relevant questions and maintain a healthy, stable, civil and respectful co-existence, together. A free existence with positive security and public safety that is complete, cohesive and fair but, still separate nationally.

  • Publication number: 20060165484
Abstract: A connector (15) for connecting modules together comprises a plastics connector member (16), an expander rod (17) and a threaded expander rod displacer (18). The connector member (16) has spaced dovetail style enlargements (19) on one side and a full length dovetail enlargement (20) on the other side. The connector member (16) is designed to slide in the confronting slots with the wasted sections (21) of the expander (17) located inside each of the sections (19). Once in position the threaded expander rod displacer (18) is used to axially displace the expander (17) to force the enlarged sections of the expander (17) into the sections (19) thus engaging the slot and at the same time biassing the modules together.

  • Patent number: 7080720
Abstract: An improved torque converter that results in greater fuel efficiency and more horsepower with a lower failure rate. The improved torque converter has a greater lock-up surface area than an original equipment torque converter to reduce slippage. The lock-up surface area can be provided from a wider friction lining material, a floating clutch, and/or a floating clutch plate. An improved stator contributes to fuel efficiency. In one aspect, the torque converter has a novel thrust washer that has parabolic shaped grooves to facilitate lubrication and reduce failure of the bearing thrust washer. In one aspect the torque converter uses brazed blades to reduce vibration and strengthen the blades to make them more resistant to distortion and failure.

  • Publication number: 20060041448
Abstract: The invention: involves a unique set of mass production process and evaluation tools to reappraise intricate otherwise costly products to produce or reproduce and manufacture them best in a high cost of living society and low cost of living society. The techniques described here are to specifically bring back a legacy kitchen aids tools, products and other such devices like (The Gilhoolie renamed the WiliGrip™). “The Wili Grip” is a perfect example of intricate craftsmanship that was possible to make when labor was inexpensive in the United States and other industrial countries but has become more difficult to reproduce or compete without inexpensive labor. The invention teaches a variety of metal fabrication production techniques designed to provide technically advanced nations like the US a competitive set of modalities to maintain jobs domestically and compete with low cost labor operations world wide.

  • Patent number: 6940518
Abstract: A system and method using inductive image generation with cached, state-specific image tiles for editing digital images. A computer system contains an archival digital image to be edited and viewed, a transformation state list, describing editing operations to be applied to the archival image in order to produce the current edited image rendition, and a viewing data set, describing the resolution, offset and extent of the current view of the current edited image rendition. The current view is constructed from a set of image tiles kept in a tile cache. In response to an instruction to generate the current view, the system identifies the requisite tiles, and then generates each tile by an inductive image generation process.

  • Publication number: 20050080520
Abstract: This innovative technology involves stationary as well as, portable application in the form of a waste material recovery and conversion center/power plant, which is termed The Recovery Center. It has been created to replace the traditional unsanitary trash transfer station and its final repository the landfill and or city dump. The invention is ecologically friendly, reduces the nation's dependency on oil, and is politically acceptable and publicly embraced as a good neighbor business for any community. The process taught separates wet waste from dry waste and recyclables during the collection process and at the center via smart routing of refuse vehicles and progressive plant automation. One big advantage is that the same vehicle is used for most all the waste and recyclable tonnage in a single area.

  • Patent number: 6857600
Abstract: A two dimensional gas turbine engine exhaust nozzle includes transversely spaced apart upper and lower convergent and divergent flaps and extending longitudinally in a downstream direction and between two widthwise spaced apart sidewalls. The divergent flaps have inwardly facing upper and lower flap surfaces defining together with the sidewalls at least a part of an exhaust stream flowpath therebetween. The upper and lower flap surfaces have respective upper and lower apexes wherein the upper apex is axially spaced apart and aft of the lower apex. The upper divergent flap has an expansion ramp diverging away from the nozzle axis. The ramp extends aftwardly from the upper apex and aftwardly of a trailing edge of the lower divergent flap. The upper and lower divergent flaps are operably movable to block a line of sight along the nozzle axis through an exit of the nozzle during engine operation.
