  • Publication number: 20170289939
Abstract: Synchronization technology is implemented for a satellite communication system. Master clock information is accessed at a terrestrial location. A timing message based on the master clock information is transmitted from the terrestrial location to a satellite as the satellite is in orbit. The satellite is synchronized to the master clock based on the timing message. A beacon signal is transmitted from the satellite toward Earth. The beacon signal includes timing information. The beacon signal is received at a ground based gateway. The gateway is synchronized to the satellite based on the beacon signal. Communication is sent from the gateway to a terminal via the satellite. The communication includes timing data. The terminal is synchronized to the gateway based on the timing data.

  • Publication number: 20160285543
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for providing a redundant telemetry transmission path on a spacecraft. The spacecraft includes a telemetry (TLM) transmitter having a modulation input coupled by a commandable switch with a signal source. The TLM transmitter is configured to receive an output from the signal source when the commandable switch is closed. The computer is configured to encode TLM data bits onto a TLM downlink signal by actuating the commandable switch, such that a signal from the signal source received by the TLM transmitter is temporally varied between an on condition and an off condition.

Abstract: A combined cycle dual closed loop electric generating system, comprising a gas turbine assembly (comprising a combustion chamber, a compressor, a first pump, a first driveshaft, a gas turbine and a first generator) and a steam turbine assembly (comprising a second pump, a second driveshaft, a steam turbine and a second generator). Said first portion of said working fluid circulates through said gas turbine assembly and a first heat exchanger. Said second portion of said working fluid circulates through said steam turbine assembly and said first heat exchanger. Said first heat exchanger transfers a first heat energy from said gas turbine loop to said steam turbine loop. Said gas turbine assembly generates a first portion of an electric output. Said steam turbine assembly generates a second portion of said electric output.

  • Patent number: 8865794
Abstract: An enhanced anaerobic adhesive composition containing microencapsulated metal ions is disclosed. Microencapsulated metal ions, such as iron oxide, copper naphthenate, cobalt naphthenate, ferrocene, and ferrocene derivatives, act as bonding sites in the composition, such that the composition achieves more complete polymerizations in a shorter curing time. The curing properties and the cure quality are significantly improved by the inclusion of microencapsulated metal ions. The composition can be used to bond metal and plastic substrates.

  • Patent number: 8620467
Abstract: A method and apparatus for assembling a complex product in a parallel process system wherein a collection of components are provided for assembling the complex product. The present invention involves transferring the collection of components to one of a plurality of similar computerized assembly cells through the use of a transport system. The collection of components is automatically assembled into the complex product through the use of the computerized assembly cells. The complex product is then transferred from one of the assembly cells to a computerized test cell, where the complex product is tested to ensure for the proper dimensioning and functioning of the complex product. The complex product is then transferred from the test cell via the transport system to either a part reject area or conveyor, if the product is defective, or to an automatic dunnage load or part return system, if the product is not defective.

  • Publication number: 20130248007
Abstract: Twisting off the existing cap that sits on the Valve of the tire is time consuming. Also one needs to check the vehicle to find the appropriate air-pressure for the tire. The IDC Cap is quick and convenient to remove just pull and the IDC Cap is removed or push the IDC Cap into place on the valve. In addition, there is identification on the top of the cap that corresponds with appropriate tire pressure or value that is required.

  • Patent number: 7789166
Abstract: A root-crop harvester is configured to temporarily store tubers by recirculating tubers on the conveyor system of the harvester. The conveyor system has selectable first and second operating configurations. In the first operating configuration the conveyor system transports tubers from the digger bed to an outlet where tubers are unloaded from the harvester (e.g., onto a truck). In the second operating configuration the conveyor system transports tubers along the conveyor system for a period of time and then diverts tubers to an earlier position within the conveyor system, thereby recirculating tubers on the harvester. After a period of time, the harvester operator selects the first operating configuration and the recirculating tubers along with newly dug tubers are unloaded from the harvester.
