  • Patent number: 11108995
Abstract: A method for gas detection including monitoring a concentration of a gas measured by a gas detection device to determine whether or not the concentration of the gas exceeds a threshold, when the concentration of the gas is determined to exceed the threshold, obtaining an image from a camera, the image capturing an area in proximity to the gas detection device at a time when the concentration of the gas is determined to exceed the threshold, annotating the obtained image to overlay a value of the concentration of the gas that exceeds the threshold on the captured area in proximity to the gas detection device, and transmitting the augmented image.

  • Publication number: 20200193364
Abstract: An equipment management system is provided for use in a facility having an inventory of items. The system includes an inventory database, a user database, a person identification system and an inventory management system. The inventory database has inventory data stored therein, wherein the inventory data corresponds to the items of the inventory. The user database has user data stored therein, wherein the user data corresponding to an identity of a user. The person identification system generates a user identification signal based on a detected biometric parameter of the user and based on a detected non-biometric parameter associated with the user. The inventory management system generates an inventory identification signal based on a determination as to whether the user has removed an item of the inventory of items.

  • Patent number: 7680087
Abstract: The present invention relates to a state machine which has a dual process which receives and concurrently processes ad-hoc and infrastructure processes. The dual process state concurrently executes both processes by either over-clocking a media access control core, or by routing the processes to multiple media access control cores for processing. The state machine contains an ad-hoc process state which accepts either an ad-hoc or an infrastructure signal, and either processes the signal if the received signal is an ad-hoc signal, or transfers control to an infrastructure process state for processing if the received signal is an infrastructure signal. The state machine also contains an infrastructure process state which accepts either an ad-hoc or an infrastructure signal, and either processes the signal if the received signal is an infrastructure signal, or transfers control to an ad-hoc process state for processing if the received signal is an ad-hoc signal.

  • Patent number: 7478153
Abstract: Managing a plurality of network devices on a network by detecting the presence of at least one of the plurality of network devices on the network by using a first communication protocol, obtaining, by using the first communication protocol, an information block from each of the detected network devices, wherein the information block contains information related to the corresponding network device, formatting each information block into a directory entry, and sending each directory entry to a directory server via a second communication protocol.

  • Patent number: 7257550
Abstract: A method and system for providing an application that uses real-time communication to order products and/or services. The method and system comprise launching a real-time chat application on a client device, logging into the real-time chat application, initiating a discovery operation of the client device upon logging in, displaying peripheral devices connected to the client device detected by the discovery operation, selecting a peripheral device from the detected peripheral devices, displaying products and/or services for the selected peripheral device, and obtaining products and service for the selected peripheral device.

  • Patent number: 6757280
Abstract: Managing an SNMP device over a network by transmitting SNMP messages to the managed device while ensuring that an SNMP packet identifier for each message is unique. The SNMP packet identifier is selected in correspondence to the physical memory address at which the SNMP message is stored, and may be the first or last such memory address, or any memory address in between. Because the packet identifier corresponds to the physical memory address of the message, each packet identifier is guaranteed to be unique since subsequent messages cannot occupy the same physical memory address as a prior message unless the prior message is already safely gone.

  • Patent number: 6308205
Abstract: Viewing and updating a configuration of at least one of a plurality of network devices connected to a network. Each of the network devices is repeatedly polled over the network by a network management server for configuration information, which is stored in a database. A first URL-encoded request is received from a requesting station, which is preferably a web browser. The first request identifies a targeted one of the network devices. Responsive to the first request, a response is dynamically generated. The response is representative of a visual display of the configuration information for the targeted one of the network devices based at least in part on the configuration information stored in the database. The response is sent to the requesting station, and a second URL-encoded request is received from the requesting station, the second request including configuration data for the targeted one of the network devices. Responsive to the second request, the database is updated based on the configuration data.

  • Patent number: 6256322
Abstract: Management of a network device by a management client over a network using a network management protocol such as SNMP or DMI, with the managed device including multiple different protocol stacks for receiving network transmissions using multiple different protocols respectively corresponding to the multiple different protocol stacks. The management client obtains information from the managed device pertaining to the presence and identity of the multiple different protocol stacks. Thereafter, to manage the managed device, the management client sends multiple copies of the same network management packet to the same recipient over each of the different protocol stacks. If a single managed device includes plural different network interfaces, then multiple transmissions are also made to each different network interface. By virtue of this arrangement, since multiple copies of the same network management packet are sent to the same recipient, reliability of receipt of the management packet is increased.
