Abstract: A portable battery box is described. The portable battery box is suitable for charging and housing a battery and comprises: a charging apparatus for charging a battery; a hollow lid shell and a hollow base shell for housing a rechargeable battery, the base hollow shell including a base wall, a top wall and at least one side wall extending between the base and top walls; and at least one handle disposed in a respective one of the side walls of the hollow base shell.

Abstract: The invention provides a battery box including a body (1) for housing a lead acid battery (2), the body having a base (3) and sides (4) extending from the base to define an open top (5). A lid (6) is applicable to the body to close the top. In use, the lid has at least one generally vertically oriented side (7). Each one of a plurality of relatively water sensitive electrical components is electrically connectable to the battery and housed substantially within the lid. The electrical components each have a user interface located on the vertically oriented side (7) thereby to inhibit damage to the electrical component as a result of water ingress.

Abstract: A submersible lamp including a base member having a waterproof cable entry therethrough, one or more bulb holders mounted to the base member, a lamp cover positioned over the bulb holder(s), and an at least partially transparent over cover extending over the lamp cover and engaging with the base member in a sealing relationship so that the base member, the waterproof cable entry and the over cover together form a waterproof enclosure. The waterproof cable entry, which may be used independent of the submersible lamp, includes a housing through which a cable is adapted to pass, an elastomeric plug adapted to fit within a bore of the housing, and a securing device for urging the plug into the bore and secure the plug within the housing.
