  • Patent number: 7171755
Abstract: A level designed for use in hanging pictures is disclosed. The level is proportioned to be easy and convenient to use in conjunction with a picture frame, having a pair of perpendicular legs that can rest on a corner of a picture frame and a level vial positioned within one of the legs. The level can be used to help guide the mounting of a frame on the wall or may be used to check the placement of an already-mounted frame and adjust the frame as needed.

  • Publication number: 20050034309
Abstract: A tool for cutting compressible material, such as fiberglass insulation, comprised of a handle, a pivotable blade carrier housing, a blade carrier, with or without a razor blade slidable within the blade carrier and a compression wheel means is disclosed. A slidable locking mechanism slidably coupling the razor blade within the blade carrier allows the razor blade to be retracted into the tool. Pulling the tool along the surface of insulation material while applying downward pressure to the handle and hence compression wheel allows the rotating wheel to compresses the compressible material allowing a razor blade to make a straight cut through the entire thickness of the compressible material.

  • Publication number: 20040250425
Abstract: A tool for cutting insulation is comprised of two elongated mating handles connected at a central point. A blade/blade carrier and compression wheel with gear like teeth is supported between the handle halves. An optional releasable locking mechanism in the handle allows the blade to be retracted into the tool. Pulling the tool along the surface of insulation material while applying downward pressure to the compression wheel and blade allows the rotating wheel to grip and compresses the material allowing the blade to make a straight cut without tearing.

  • Patent number: 6792687
Abstract: An adjustable tool, and method of use thereof, for use in cutting a workpiece having a face extending between first and second opposite borders is disclosed. The tool preferably comprises an elongate guide member having proximal and distal ends, a bottom surface and a primary side including a straight-edge; a post fixed at the proximal end; an arm extending from the guide member, having measurement indicia marked thereon and defining a slot; and a movable pin positionable in the slot, the pin adapted to be secured at a desired location corresponding to a desired measurement indicium. The post and the pin are adapted to simultaneously contact the first border of the workpiece so that the straight-edge identifies a desired cutting line corresponding to the desired measurement indicium.
