  • Patent number: 7395273
Abstract: A system for providing receipt inspection reporting (RIR) allows for entry, modification, searching and reporting of RIR data. The RIR data is stored in a database and accessible online to facilitate tracking and analysis of defects and other problems. Searches and custom reports also may be generated to provide RIR tracking and analysis of problems. Logging and tracking of defects allows for root cause analysis using RIR data stored in a database to improve the RIR resolution process.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 31, 2002
Date of Patent: July 1, 2008
    Assignee: General Electric Company
Inventors: Javed M. Khan, Ching Hua Chien, Robert Walter Droege, Allen E. Dubberley, Richard Arthur Wolters, Jr.
  • Patent number: 6785692
Abstract: A method is provided for coordinating QA event schedules using a network-based system. The system includes a server system coupled to a database and at least one client system. The method includes receiving QA event data and storing the QA event data in the database. The method further includes cross-referencing the QA event data, updating the database with the QA event data and providing information in response to an inquiry.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 7, 2001
Date of Patent: August 31, 2004
    Assignee: General Electric Company
Inventors: Richard Arthur Wolters, Jr., Christopher Alan Hansen, James Everett Boyden

  • Patent number: 5826252
Abstract: A system for managing multiple projects of a similar type has a global project management database for storing data for all participating projects which is dynamically updated with best current data representing best current practices across all participating projects in the system. Localized computer terminals are operated at each local site with a common project management program and data imported from the global project management database. Periodically, the local terminals export data to the global project management database which are evaluated to determine any new best current practices across all participating projects and to update the global project management database with the new best current practices. Upon periodically importing data from the global project management database, each localized computer terminal is updated with the new best current practices across all participating projects.
