Patent number: 9489871Abstract: Certain embodiments of the present invention provide an indicator integrated into an item. The indicator includes at least two separation edges. The first separation edge includes a first termination point and a second termination point. The second separation edge includes a third termination point and a fourth termination point. The indicator includes an aperture adjacent to the first and third termination points. The indicator includes a score adjacent to the second and fourth termination points. The indicator is separated from the item along the first and second separation edges using the aperture and folded over the score to an open position such that at least a portion of the indicator extends beyond a perimeter of the item and a void, contiguous with the aperture, exists between the first and second separation edges. The indicator is foldable over the score in an inward direction and an outward direction.Type: GrantFiled: August 8, 2011Date of Patent: November 8, 2016Assignee: PDQ MAZOO, LLCInventor: Richard B. Patent number: 9155338Abstract: Certain embodiments provide a variably-sized removable portion integrated into an object. The object may include a surface and a variably-sized removable portion that includes separation edges that define a shape of the variably-sized removable portion. In certain embodiments, each of the separation edges is a different size and is concentrically-aligned with each other. Certain embodiments provide that each of the separations edges is separable from the surface of the object such that a size of an opening left when one of the separation edges is separated from the surface is variable depending on the size of the separation edge selected to be separated from the surface.Type: GrantFiled: October 5, 2012Date of Patent: October 13, 2015Assignee: PDQ MAZOO, LLCInventor: Richard B. Patent number: 9050734Abstract: Certain embodiments provide an apparatus for integrating an indicator flag into an item. The apparatus includes an upper portion and a base. The upper portion includes a cutting blade and a first attachment. The cutting blade is operable to cut the indicator flag into the item. The base includes a second attachment and one or more cutting grooves. The second attachment is operable to couple with the first attachment such that upper portion is movable towards the base. The one or more cutting grooves are operable to mate with the cutting blade when the upper portion is depressed and the upper portion moves towards the base.Type: GrantFiled: November 13, 2012Date of Patent: June 9, 2015Assignee: PDQ Mazoo, LLCInventors: Richard B. Publication number: 20130036637Abstract: Certain embodiments of the present invention provide for an indicator integrated into an item. The indicator integrated into the item may include at least two separation edges. The first separation edge may include a first termination point and a second termination point. The second separation edge may include a third termination point and a fourth termination point. The indicator integrated into the item may also include an aperture adjacent to the first and third termination points. Further, the indicator integrated into the item may include a score adjacent to the second and fourth termination points. In certain embodiments, the indicator is separated from the item along the first and second separation edges using the aperture and folded over the score to an open position such that at least a portion of the indicator extends beyond a perimeter of the item. Additionally, a void, contiguous with the aperture, exists between the first and second separation edges.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 8, 2011Publication date: February 14, 2013Applicant: PDQ MAZOO, LLCInventor: Richard B. Patent number: 5507696Abstract: A water slide is made from a plurality of plastic sheets welded together to form intercommunicating tubes which may be filled with water. Some of the tubes form the side walls of a pool. Other of the tubes form bumps of graduated height to provide a ramp at the end of a slide. A child runs toward the slide, bellyflops on it, slides over the ramp and splashes down in the pool. The water filled tubes additionally provide a shock absorbing effect.Type: GrantFiled: June 20, 1994Date of Patent: April 16, 1996Assignee: Marchon, Inc.Inventors: Marvin Smollar, Richard B. Mazursky

Patent number: 5401214Abstract: A toy water slide has a long piece of plastic with a surface which is slick when it is wet. An inflatable set of tubes of graduated diameter together form a ramp which is transversely positioned under approximately the longitudinal center of the slide. A spray of water is delivered from each side of the slide toward and over the slide in the vicinity of the ramp, whereby the slide appears to go through a tunnel of water. Graphics are printed on the surface of the slide to provide greater interest to the child.Type: GrantFiled: April 27, 1989Date of Patent: March 28, 1995Assignee: Marchon, Inc.Inventors: Marvin Smollar, Richard B. Patent number: 5338044Abstract: A water toy for use in association with an external water supply and a water pipe, such as a garden hose. A shaft has a bottom end operatively attached to a base member and a top end opposite to the bottom end. A water flow directing element is operatively attached adjacent the top end of the shaft and has a first end attached to the water pipe and one or more second ends which are attached to a corresponding number of flexible members. Each of the flexible members have a second end region which allow for the discharge of water. The forces applied by the water from the external water supply to the internal wall of the flexible members imparts random movement to the flexible members. A target is operatively attached to the spacing member or a portion of the flexible members so as to prompt physical interaction between a user of the water toy and the toy itself.Type: GrantFiled: April 30, 1992Date of Patent: August 16, 1994Assignee: Vtech Industries, Inc.Inventors: Richard B. Mazursky, David M. Waskin, Steven N. Taylor

Patent number: 5097611Abstract: An advertising and information display includes a mounting bracket for attaching the display to a conventional retail shelving unit or other structural support, a fixed carrier for holding a relatively small, continuously displayed information medium, and a flexible, user-operable, automatically-retracting carrier for holding a substantially larger, intermittently displayed information medium. The fixed carrier holds a removable user-enticing placard that does not interfere visually or physically with nearby exhibits or products located on that or adjacent shelves. The flexible carrier is preferably a plastic, cloth, or paper sheet which is mounted behind the fixed carrier on a spring-loaded roller or other automatically retracting storage device. A brake preferably controls retraction speed.Type: GrantFiled: July 10, 1990Date of Patent: March 24, 1992Assignee: Marchon, Inc.Inventors: Marvin Smollar, Richard B. Mazursky, William F. Walter
