  • Publication number: 20110265134
Abstract: A video transport stream over IP (TS/IP) server system comprises a set of video server blocks. A video server block comprises a pair of codecs and a primary FPGA, the codecs based on a fully programmable high speed DSP processor. The video server block further comprises a pair of VioIP engines for translating transport streams into IP packet streams. The video TS/IP server can perform transcoding, transrating and statistical multiplexing functions between ingress and egress transport streams. The video TS/IP server can ingress or egress HD-SDI and DVB-ASI data streams to or from an IP network via TS/IP. A host subsystem is embedded in a stand-alone embodiment. Multiple video TS/IP servers can be hosted by a PC in a PC host embodiment.

  • Patent number: 7874192
Abstract: The present invention discloses an arrangement for cooling a roll (5). The arrangement comprises a housing (2) to be secured to the roll (5), a hollow shaft (8) mounted for rotational movement within the housing (2) and a cooling medium line to convey cooling medium into the roll (5) via the interior of the shaft(8). The cooling medium line comprising an inlet communicating with an elbow portion, a first length (27) of the elbow portion (20) extending from the inlet substantially perpendicular to the axis of the shaft and a second length (26) of the elbow portion extending from the first length in the direction of the axis of the shaft (8), the axes of the first and second lengths being in substantially the same plane.

  • Patent number: 6035293
Abstract: An approach for managing a manufacturing process is provided. A specification and recipe management system (RSMS) manages the validation of new specifications that reference one or more recipes and one or more contexts stored in a recipe management system (RMS). The validation of new specifications includes verifying that RMS code blocks contained in the new specification can be processed by the RMS. Also, the versions of recipes and contexts referenced in the specification are checked to ensure that they are either the current, valid version number or a valid new version number. The RSMS provides a specification browser for examining cross-reference information for specifications, recipes and contexts. The cross-reference information specifies recipes and contexts referenced in a selected specification, subject to a recipe/context filter. In addition, the cross-reference information identifies specifications that reference a selected recipe or a selected context, subject to a specification filter.

  • Patent number: 5519762
Abstract: A cordless telephone provides for improved conservation of battery power in a handset unit when this unit is located remote from an associated base unit and in a standby state for a prolonged period of time. While the handset unit is in the standby state for less than a predetermined time period, this unit resides in a low-power monitoring mode which includes deactivating certain internal circuitry and reducing by a first time period the on-time state of other internal circuitry for conserving battery power. After being in the standby state for greater than the predetermined time period, the handset unit continues to reside in the low-power monitoring mode, but further reduces by a second time period the on-time state of the other internal circuitry for greater conservation of battery power. Communications between the handset unit and the base unit is easily reestablished by either one of these units irrespective of the time that the handset unit has been in the standby state.

  • Patent number: 5337212
Abstract: A flip screen for notebook computers which pivots about a horizontal axis to position a pen input and display side of the screen in various ergonomic writing positions. The flip screen fits within a frame portion and is equipped with left and right pivot pins. The frame portion has corresponding apertures or channels for receiving the pins and holding the screen in place. The apertures are elongated in shape and extend substantially the entire length of the frame portion. The flip screen pivots and slides about the pivot pins to place the pen input and display side in a first position facing upwards when the frame portion is closed upon a base portion or a second position facing the base portion when the frame portion is opened from the base portion.

  • Patent number: 4979862
Abstract: An automatic loading mechanism for use in the manufacture of thin, metallic circuit board panels. The invention includes a lower drum unit which accepts the metallic panels from a conveyor system. The lower drum unit is rotatably mounted within a frame assembly, and includes a plurality of clamps which can automatically receive several metallic panels of varying size. The lower unit includes automatic clamp control means, and has the capability of rotating the panels from a horizontal to a vertical position or vice-versa. The lower drum unit guidingly feeds the metallic panels, through a spline assembly, to an upper unit. The uppper unit includes a plurality of clamps, in diametrically placed pairs, which delicately handle only the peripheral edge of the metallic panels while feeding them automatically into a rack assembly.

  • Patent number: 4782521
Abstract: A time manager for a personal terminal can be generally characterized as a things-to-do file in which the user inputs a to-do reminder message along with a data and time that the terminal user wants to be alerted (reminded). The notion of a terminal time manager is advanced by displaying reminder messages directed to calling a named entity that is contained in the terminal telephone directory and by automatically calling the named entity when the user points to the displayed reminder. If the user inputs the actual telephone number to be called in place of the named entity, then the telephone number will be called even though the telephone number is not contained in the directory.
