  • Patent number: 9159148
Abstract: A method for patient monitoring includes receiving one or more first patient parameters from at least one medical device. The method further includes transforming the one or more first patient parameters into one or more gauge display parameters. The method further includes generating data operable to display the one or more gauge display parameters individually in a particular portion of a display device. The one or more gauge display parameters include at least a historical range and a current value within the historical range. The method further includes analyzing one or more second patient parameters to adjust the one or more gauge display parameters.

  • Publication number: 20130255681
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a system and method for sampling parametric data provided with a patient monitoring device. A disclosed method includes sampling parametric data associated with a patient and adjusting a sampling interval during the sampling of the parametric data based on a change in a frequency of a periodic physiological event associated with the patient. A disclosed system includes a server computer operative to sample parametric data associated with a patient and to adjust a sampling interval during the sampling of the parametric data based on a change in a frequency of a periodic physiological event associated with the patient.

  • Publication number: 20070156452
Abstract: A system and method for managing medication orders, including verbal orders and changes to those orders, is described. A server receives mediation orders from a pharmacy and communicates those orders to an infusion pump. The infusion pump communicates status messages to the server and the server compares the status messages to the medication orders to determine if the there were any changes to the order, or if a medication was administered absent a medication order. The server assigns a new order identification number to the status message if needed. The system may also reconcile original medication orders with information associated with a new order identification number and stores the information in the eMAR of a patient.

  • Publication number: 20060247606
Abstract: An access key is required for operation of features of a medical instrument. A control program is used to control access to the operating features of the medical instrument. All programs of the medical instrument are validated for operation of any and all of the features of the medical instrument either alone or in any combination. However access to use of those features or combinations of features of the medical instrument requires an access key that is recognized by the control program. The pump may be usable in a basic operational configuration without entry of any access key; however, more advanced features will be disabled unless the operator enters a correct access key to enable one or more of those features. Operator input for enabled features will be accepted by the instrument but operator input for disabled features will not be accepted. Disabled features are not displayed, nor is information about them displayed.

  • Publication number: 20060200369
Abstract: Pending medication orders are presented on the controller of an infusion pump to which a patient has been identified. All pending medication orders are displayed on the screen of the controller and any may be selected by the clinician. Selecting a pending order at the controller that involves an infusion to the patient also results in automatic programming of the infusion pump in accordance with that order. Selection of an oral medication at the controller results, as does selection of any other order, in notification to the healthcare facility server that the order is being administered. Such notification resolves open controlled item transactions as well as provides information that may be relevant to a patient's EMAR. Selection of a pending order may occur manually or automatically through identification of a medication.
