  • Patent number: 4789070
Abstract: Clothes airer of the type having a pair of hinged frames each with a pair of legs joined by a beam, the legs being pivoted between their upper and lower ends so that the frames can fold or unfold between retracted and in-use positions, there being struts spaced from one another along each beam which will receive clothes pegs for carrying clothes requiring airing or drying when stretched between the beams, and a retracting line with a releasable line lock joining the beams and being adjustable for length so as to adjust the distance between the beams.

  • Patent number: 4713959
Abstract: A tool is especialy adapted for use in fastening together sections of ducts used to conduit air for heating and air conditioning. The tool is comprised of a pair of tongs having opposing handles and jaws and hinged to rotate relative to each other about a transverse axis. The jaws are specially formed to facilitate insertion of angle shaped corner fasteners into the transverse, marginal flanges which project from the ends of conventional air conditioning duct sections and to bend over and collapse the peripheral lips on the marginal flanges of the duct sections back onto the legs of the reinforcement angles.

  • Patent number: 4700697
Abstract: A cervical appliance for preventing ventral flexion of the head to reduce the possibility of sudden infant death syndrome and/or adult sleep apnea, both of which have common characteristics which are at least partially obviated with the use of the invention.

  • Patent number: 4164972
Abstract: An awning assembly including an awning, a pair of main support arms, and a pair of rafter arms is collapsible from an extended position to a stored position. In the stored position the awning assembly is enclosed in a box which is mounted to a wall. In the extended position the rafter arms extend from the box and the main support arms extend from the wall to support the awning. The box can be formed in four lightweight interlocking extrusions. A bracket braces the interlocking extrusions, supports the awning in the stored position, and elevates the rafter arms within the box. A foot is pivotal on each of the main support arms to permit attachment of the main support arm to the wall or ground.

  • Patent number: 4117876
Abstract: An awning assembly includes a pair of collapsible arm assemblies supporting a roller having an awning disposed on the roller and extending to a wall. Each of the arm assemblies includes a telescoping main support arm having a first channel and a second channel which extends between the wall and the roller. A telescoping rafter arm extends between the wall and a slide which is movable within the first channel. The arm assemblies are collapsible from an extended position to a stored position wherein the rafter arm is disposed in the second channel, the main support arm is held next the wall, and the awning is rolled on the roller. The main support arm has a locking ear which registers with a locking ear fixed to the wall to lock the main support arm in the stored position. A mounting bracket associated with each of the main support arms can be operated to detach the main support arm from the wall. This permits the main support arm to be moved to a vertical orientation in the extended position.

  • Patent number: 4096875
Abstract: A pressure fluid-actuated oscillator, especially suitable for use in lung ventilation equipment for emergency use, comprises a double-piloted 5-port valve and biased timer valves controlling the supply to its pilots to provide for repeated changeover of the 5-port valve at intervals determined by the respective timing periods of the timer valves. One of the timer valves has an adjustable timing period whereas the other has a nominally fixed timing period but is made sensitive to the duration of the immediately preceding timing period determined by the adjustable timer valve so as automatically to change its timing period in the same sense as adjustment of the adjustable timer valve. In lung ventilation equipment using such an oscillator, therefore, a single control may serve for directly setting the critical inhalation phase duration and to cause a complementary alteration of the exhalation phase duration that maintains the ratio of duration of the respective phases within desirably close limits.
