  • Patent number: 11857230
Abstract: A medical device and method of expanding the maxilla of a patient via application of intra-orally generated forces and/or applying externally generated protraction forces to the maxilla of the patient is provided. The medical device can embody multiple configurations device that include skeletal anchorage device alone or in combination with a fixed aligner or an adjustable aligner.

  • Publication number: 20220322777
Abstract: The present invention relates to a helmet support exoskeleton and harness therefor that allow offloading the weight of head mounted equipment such as helmets and other equipment related to helmets in order to prevent and reduce neck fatigue, strain, and injuries without causing discomfort or impeding mobility of an operator. Through the use of a helmet- and harness-mounted linkage assembly, the weight is translated from an operator's head to his or her torso. This further allows the operator to wear additional and heavier equipment without causing discomforts and reduces the risk of neck injuries.

  • Publication number: 20210196543
Abstract: A patient lift for lifting and lowering a patient. Cable or rope may be used as the lifting element. The spool winds the lifting element in successive adjacent winds. The operator lifts the patient by pushing up on the carry bar, patient or lifting element, and lowers the patient by pushing down on such elements. The lift includes automatic loading and unloading for transition on or off the bed.

  • Publication number: 20200405449
Abstract: A method of treating a maxillary deficiency in a patient in need thereof comprises coupling a first bone anchor to the buccal surface of the maxilla of the patient, coupling a second bone anchor to the buccal surface of the maxilla of the patient, attaching a device to the first bone anchor and the second bone anchor, and applying an expansion force through the device to the maxilla. A device comprises a facebow and a lateral attachment portion, coupled to the facebow. The facebow includes a first extra-oral attachment portion and a second extra-oral attachment portion, configured to be coupled to an external anchorage or protraction device, a first intra-oral attachment portion, configured to be coupled to a first bone anchor, and a second intra-oral attachment portion, configured to be coupled to a second bone anchor. The device may be coupled to an external anchorage or protraction device.

  • Patent number: 10251805
Abstract: Systems and methods for use with haptic devices. A control system for haptic devices determines a first course of action based on a user's motion. Prior to implementing the first course of action, the control system determines if the first course of action would lead to instability in the haptic device which could cause an unsafe situation such as failure of its components. If the first course of action would lead to instability, the control device determines a second course of action that would not lead to instability and implements this second course of action. To assist in this second course of action and to prevent potential oscillation in the haptic device, the control system also selectively dampens a projected action of the haptic device. A haptic device using such a control system is also disclosed.
