  • Patent number: 11913148
Abstract: A hybrid reinforcing fabric includes glass fibers and carbon fibers. The hybrid reinforcing fabric can be readily infused at an acceptable infusion speed, without requiring that the carbon fiber tows used resin. Thus, the fabric provides for an effective one-step (i.e., in the mold) infusion process during composite part formation.

  • Publication number: 20160054099
Abstract: A device for preventing secondary light emitted by a laser sight from being seen is disclosed. The device includes a cavity defined by a sidewall and first and second ends of a light containment structure. In some embodiments, the light containment structure is mountable so as to receive light from a laser sight of a weapon through a first opening located at the first end of the light containment structure. The device can include a first portion located at the second end of the light containment structure, and a second opening defined by the first portion and that can pass light from the cavity toward an object such that the object is illuminated to a user of the weapon by the light from the second opening. In some embodiments, the cavity can be configured such that light does not directly illuminate the sidewall.

  • Patent number: 8884582
Abstract: An energy storage system includes a battery management system that has a plurality of loads connected in electrical series with one another, and a controller operatively connected to the plurality of loads. A first battery pack has battery cells connected in electrical series with respect to one another to establish a system voltage. The first battery pack is connected in electrical parallel to the plurality of loads. The controller is operable to balance charges of the battery cells by activating selected ones of the loads. The battery management system and the first battery pack are configured such that an additional battery pack with additional battery cells connected in electrical series with respect to one another or an additional load pack with additional loads connected in electrical series with respect to one another is connectable to the battery management system. A method of managing battery capacity is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20130018690
Abstract: Software and methods allow a league golfer to schedule a substitute golfer or request a need for a substitute. If a substitute golfer is scheduled, the golfer is notified. If a substitute golfer is not scheduled, all potential substitute golfers that are loaded into the system will be notified of the request. The first substitute golfer to respond to the request is automatically scheduled in place of the league golfer. The system automatically notifies the league golfer that the request has been fulfilled. Previously, golfers and league secretaries relied on making phone calls, leaving messages and manually sending emails to find a substitute golfer. The system notifies all available golfers simultaneously and requires less effort. The system accepts only one substitute golfer for each request, based on whichever substitute responds first. All others are notified that the request is no longer available and prevented from accepting the request.

  • Publication number: 20070170132
Abstract: A spice storage including an array of sliding drawers positioned on a base. The assembly will be placed on an existing kitchen cabinet shelf. It should be noted however, that the assembly may be made to replace the existing shelf if desired. The assembly is designed to store spice containers in a relative small space, which containers may be easily identified and retrieved. Each drawer includes a planar, horizontal bottom surface having a knob secured to the front end. Plural dowels are positioned along each side of the planar surface to define an enclosed area for the spice containers.

  • Patent number: 5389516
Abstract: The present invention relates to a cDNA probe for the detection of the mRNA for human methenyltetrahydrofolate synthetase, which comprises the following nucleic acid sequence, Seq. Id. No. 1: ##STR1## or any functional analogs thereof wherein the hybridization of the probe and the mRNA for human methenyltetrahydrofolate synthetase is substantially preserved. The present invention also relates to a polyclonal antibody or an antigen-binding fragment thereof for the detection of the mRNA for human methenyltetrahydrofolate synthetase, wherein said antibody is raised against a protein segment aa.sup.100-112 H-Phe-Asp-Lys-His-Gly-Asn-Arg-Leu-Gly-Arg-Gly-Lys-OH, Seq. Id. No. 2 of human methenyltetrahydrofolate synthetase.
