    Abstract: The present invention relates to a burred fastener for forming a friction fit between the fastener and a driver. The friction fit retains the fastener in contact with the driver during insertion, tightening and loosening of the fastener into a work surface. Burrs are formed in the inner side surfaces of an indentation or slot formed in the fastener head. A method for forming the burred fasteners includes striking the screw head with a deformation object.
