Abstract: The invention is directed to systems, methods and computer program products for enabling a user to control a mobile device when the user is in motion. The invention could also be used for “visibility assistance,” either for vision-impaired users, or simply to visualize screen objects obscured by the finger or other pointing device. An exemplary method comprises: determining a location of contact on a mobile device display, wherein the display presents at least one option; determining an option located near the location of contact; magnifying the first option on the display such that the first option encloses the location of contact; and initiating execution of a function associated with the first option.

Abstract: The present invention relates a method and a mobile communication device for generating a muffle-compensated ring signal in response to detecting that the mobile communicating device is in a muffling environment. The method comprises the steps of emitting a reference sound by a loudspeaker of the communication device and then measuring the acoustic response of thereof at a microphone of the same device. The acoustic response is analyzed by searching for characteristics that indicate that the mobile communication is stowed away in a muffling environment, and if such characteristics are found compensating for the muffling environment by automatically adjusting the ring signal in response to the specific characteristics of the acoustic response.

Abstract: A data repository receives a user's request to subscribe to a data backup service, and receives data from one or more remote devices associated with the user. The data repository stores the data in storage at the data repository, and receives a request to restore at least a portion of the data to one of the remote devices. The data repository determines, responsive to the request, a restoration fee for restoring the at least the portion of the data, and determines whether the user agrees to the restoration fee. The data repository charges the user the determined restoration fee if the user agrees to the fee, and provides the at least the portion of the data to the one of the remote devices.

Abstract: A method including establishing a voice communication with another user; performing voice analysis to determine a language being used by a user during the voice communication; generating a language attribute that indicates the language; assigning or associating the language attribute to a contact entry or a separate list associated with the other user; receiving a request to create a text communication to the other user; and providing text services corresponding to the language attribute associated with the other user, wherein the text services include a script system to permit the user to create the text communication.
