    Abstract: Technology described herein provides carrier-monitoring (CM) signaling approaches that can be used by networks and/or mobile devices. An evolved Node B (eNB) can send an IncMon-support message indicating whether a network supports the increased-number-of-frequencies-to-monitor (IncMon) feature. A UE can apply a default CM configuration if the UE does not receive an IncMon-support message from the eNB. The eNB can use dedicated signaling or broadcast signaling to inform a UE of a default CM configuration or one or more adopted CM configurations that are used in the network. The eNB can also send a list of carriers that are to be monitored to the UE. The UE can also send UE-capability information to the eNB, such as a default CM configuration, an adopted CM configuration, or configurable configurations in different radio access technologies (RATs) supported by the UE.

    Abstract: Technology described herein relates to systems, methods, and computer readable media to implement extended Discontinuous Reception (eDRX) for user equipments (UEs). A Mobility Management Entity (MME) can be aware of the starting time and length of an eDRX cycle of a UE so that the MME can send a paging message for the UE to an evolved Node B (eNB) shortly ahead of a Paging Occasion (PO). In some examples, more than one PO can be included within an eDRX cycle. An eDRX timer can be used to control the duration of waking times and, if desired, to maintain legacy compatibility. Additional examples provide a way for the MME to update calculations regarding the starting time and length of eDRX cycle of the UE such that the MME will continue to be apprised of when the UE will be reachable when the UE moves between cells.

    Abstract: A wireless communication device is configured to perform resource access in device-to-device (D2D) communication. A user equipment (UE) is provided with processing hardware comprising application processing circuitry and baseband processing circuitry. The application processing circuitry assigns a per-packet priority to data packets in the application layer. The baseband processing circuitry maps the per-packet priority to a transmission priority in the physical layer and prioritizes access to a wireless resource pool depending upon the transmission priority. A UE having the application processing circuitry and baseband proecessing circuitry is also provided. A computer program product is also provided. An evolved Node B (eNodeB) allocates a resource quota to a UE based upon priority information from the UE corresponding to a D2D communication to be transmitted by the UE. For a second synchronous HARQ process, the UE select second downlink resources to monitor for second HARQ feedback based on the second HARQ RTT value, and generates a second HARQ retransmission for second uplink resources in response to the second HARQ feedback.
