  • Publication number: 20220277006
Abstract: Executing a query in a disaggregated cluster. A query is received at the disaggregated cluster. A query graph is created based on the query that identifies a hierarchy of vertices, where each vertex is associated with a set of data responsive to at least a portion of the query. The compute nodes process the query graph by first identifying a minimum set of tables, files, and objects stored on the storage nodes required to retrieve data that satisfy the query. Next, the compute nodes selectively assign the identified tables, files, and objects to a leaf vertex of the query graph to optimize retrieving data from the storage nodes. Thereafter, the compute nodes process the retrieved data sets associated with each vertex using separate threads of execution for each vertex of the query graph such that leaf vertices are performed in parallel. The compute nodes then provide a result set.

A query graph is created based on the query that identifies a hierarchy of vertices, where each vertex is associated with a set of data responsive to at least a portion of the query. The compute nodes process the query graph by first identifying all tables, files, and objects stored on the storage nodes whose access is required to retrieve data that satisfy the query. • Patent number: 10734193
Abstract: A method of preparing a sample for microstructure diagnostics on a sample body by material-ablating processing, and subsequently producing an examination region on the sample portion, the examination region including a target region to be examined, the method including producing a terracing zone including the target region on at least one surface of the sample portion, wherein at least one notch with flanks extending obliquely in relation to the surface is produced next to the target region by material-ablating beam processing to produce the terracing zone, and ablating material from the surface of the sample portion in the region of the terracing zone by an ion beam, which is radiated under grazing incidence onto the surface obliquely to the direction of extent of the notch such that the target region lies behind the notch in the incoming radiation direction of the ion beam and, as a result of the terracing in the region behind the notch, the surface is recessed substantially parallel to the original height

  • Publication number: 20050226168
Abstract: A method of discovering and operating a payload node (104) includes in a computer network (100) having a central node (102) coupled to a payload node slot (110), coupling the payload node to the payload node slot. The payload node executing a payload boot algorithm (120) located at the payload node. The payload boot algorithm discovers a hardware capability set (122) of the payload node. The payload boot algorithm communicating the hardware capability set to a payload discovery manager (114) at the central node. The payload discovery manager selecting a software set (116) based on the hardware capability set. The payload discovery manager communicating the software set to the payload node and the payload node transitioning from the payload boot algorithm to the software set while bypassing rebooting the payload node to the software set.
