  • Publication number: 20240006794
Abstract: An electrical connector system is provided and includes a connector housing including a base and a plurality of terminal cavities extending through the base. The base includes a retention shoulder within each terminal cavity. The electrical connector system includes terminals received in the corresponding terminal cavities. Each terminal includes a locking lance engaging the corresponding retention terminal to retain the terminal in the corresponding terminal cavity. Each locking lance includes a strengthening rib extending length-wise along the locking lance.

  • Publication number: 20230307866
Abstract: A terminal position assurance member for use with an electrical connector. The terminal position assurance member includes a rigid frame member and one or more compressible seals. The rigid frame member extends from a conduct receiving surface of the terminal position assurance member to a connector mating surface of the terminal position assurance member. The one or more compressible seals cooperate with the rigid frame member to provide sealing between the rigid frame member, a housing of the electrical connector and conductors inserted into the terminal position assurance member. Any insertion force applied to the conductor receiving surface of the rigid frame member will be translated through the rigid frame member to one or more terminals of the electrical connector, allowing the one or more seals to remain compressible to provide the sealing characteristics required.

  • Publication number: 20200373707
Abstract: An electrical connector having a latch which extends from the first housing surface of the housing. A mounting portion extends from the latch arm to the first housing surface. A first mounting surface of the mounting portion extends at a first angle from the first housing surface in a direction toward the mating connector latching end. The first mounting surface extends from the first latch arm surface at a second angle. The length of the mounting portion as measured between a vertex of the first angle and a vertex of the second angle along the first housing surface is greater than the distance that the first latch arm surface is spaced from the first housing surface. The latch arm is pivotable about the mounting portion. The latch and the mounting portion have low stress concentrations when the latch arm is pivoted about the mounting portion.

  • Patent number: 10505314
Abstract: An electrical connector having a housing with a shrouded latch. The shrouded latch has a latch arm which extends between shrouded latch walls. The shrouded latch walls have first projections and second projections. A connector position assurance device is positioned proximate to and movable relative to the shroud latch and the latch arm between a first position and a second position. The connector position assurance includes side members with inner surfaces positioned proximate to the shrouded latch walls. The side members have first projection receiving recesses which cooperate with the first projections and the second projections when the connector position assurance device is in the first position. The side members have second projection receiving recesses which cooperate with the second projections when the connector position assurance device is in the second position.
