Abstract: A head suspension for use with a flexible hood is disclosed. The hood is used with supplied air sources in situations when a full face or half face respirator is inconvenient. The head suspension includes a headband that is preferably adjustable in circumference and a lens mount attached to the headband at the ends of the lens mount and with at least two braces. The braces are positioned to be non-parallel to each other. The lens of the hood is mounted from the lens mount. The brace provides added stability to the lens and hood.

Abstract: A full face negative pressure respirator having a replaceable viewing window is described. The respirator is especially useful as a welder's negative pressure full face respirator where the viewing window is subject to chipping and/or scratching that can impair the vision of the wearer. The full face negative pressure respirator of the present invention utilizes a viewing window insert assembly that comprises an integrally molded curved insert wall and viewing window chamber that accommodates easy replacement of an optically damaged viewing window while providing a gas tight seal between the viewing window and the insert assembly which is not subject to failure by an increase in negative pressure within the facial cavity of the respirator during normal use conditions.

Abstract: A powered air respirator which provides hardhat (safety helmet), respiratory, eye and face protection and comprises a hardhat, a shell member spaced from and overlying the hardhat, air filtering means in the space between the shell member and the hardhat, a face shield assembly attached to and depending from the front of the shell member, a transparent face shield in said face shield assembly, face sealing means on the peripheral edge of said face shield assembly to seal against a user's face from temple to temple and an air circulating means located in the rear portion of the shell member is disclosed.
