  • Publication number: 20140312180
Abstract: New and improved point machine, point lug and rail mount connections for a railroad point machine apparatus. The new point machine and point lug connections overcome the problems associated with point run, lift and bounce of a point rail. Moreover, the rail mount provides for a generic, common platform that can be used with different sized stock rails.

  • Patent number: 7690702
Abstract: A lock bar for controlling the position of a railroad warning gate includes an elongated body portion extending between a first end and a second end, a clutch mechanism disposed in the elongated body, the clutch mechanism permitting rotational movement in one direction but restricting rotational movement in the opposite direction and a hub disposed in the clutch mechanism for engaging a portion of a motor drive mechanism for a railroad warning gate such that the gate is permitted to move in one direction but is restricted from movement in the opposite direction. Indicia are preferably disposed on the opposing edges to indicate the position that the warning gate will be retained in. An oblong aperture defined through the lock bar receives a pin to hold the lock bar in engagement with the motor drive mechanism.

  • Patent number: 6216525
Abstract: A testing device is provided for checking the resistive force of a retarder installed on the rail of a railway track for reducing the speed of a railcar rolling along the track. The retarder is a hydraulic unit including a housing, a cylinder slidably mounted in the housing, a piston rod fixed to the housing, a piston assembly fixed to the piston rod and dividing the cylinder into upper and lower chambers, and a valve arrangement responsive to the flow of hydraulic fluid flowing between the upper and lower chambers. The testing device is constructed and arranged to allow a user to check the resistive force of a retarder installed upon the railway track while standing in an upright position.
